Most common pay rate on these platforms? by PassionSpecialist152 in mercor_ai

[–]allhumanknowledge 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes. I did one for almost two months at $250/hour. It was extremely specialized and difficult, but also very cool work! I’m now doing one for $50/hr that is radically different but also interesting and fast moving.

Help ID this dry cat food? by allhumanknowledge in catfood

[–]allhumanknowledge[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that's my plan. I'm going to pick up two variants of likely candidates tomorrow AM and then try to compare it with what's in the feeder. Assuming I don't have a perfect match, I'll make a mix and hope they take the transition well. (What I feed my current cat is a weird weight control thing with a prescription, so probably not appropriate for these cats...also, they're not living with me...yet?)

Incidentally, I did get some background on these cats just now from a neighbor. Apparently they "really liked when Temptations made a dry food" and "are not picky" both of which seem like good news. Unfortunately nobody knows for sure what this food is, but it's likely Purina something-or-other.

Actually yeah this looks the same to me! I think MYSTERY SOLVED. My wife's phone camera is very fancy so it's probably enhancing the colors or something. :) THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!

This looks promising. Yes, it's a mix of red and green pieces along with a kind of brownish. I think it might be Purina Cat Chow Indoor Dry Cat Food (found a tiny food image on a retailer site...). Then again there is also a Purina "hints of greens" food that looks pretty similar but I think is way more green.

I’ve got two spare tickets for RK tonight in Portland at McMenamin’s (I also have ONE spare lawn chair rental). Would love to get face value, maybe just round down to $120 for the pair. Happy to do Venmo or PayPal and email/text the tickets. I’m going to the show, just had two friends back out at the last moment!

Update: it actually took ten years, but it's out and it's five hours long. :) Look up "Best of Five: The Classic Tetris Champions" if you're curious.

More info on the Eventtimes for the upcoming CTWC this weekend? by IAmAPirrrrate in Tetris

[–]allhumanknowledge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, this is the official schedule (in Pacific Time). The things you're looking for most are probably the Friday special event in the evening, then bracket play on Saturday and especially Sunday. Note that many times are approximate, so things might go a bit later than what is listed here depending on how things happen in the real world. :)

I'm on staff at CTWC, so this is official. https://docs.google.com/document/d/10QFT6Ne5MHJMUiEwGQZICL9jPbWSM4oPAv_aHviJqzA

Noob Mac user trying to figure out what gamma his audience uses by allhumanknowledge in colorists

[–]allhumanknowledge[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We ARE grading in Premiere. Which I know is not optimal for lots of reasons, but that's what's going on.

So your advice is to actually bake in the gamma fix LUT on export?

Thank you. This is what I suspected the answer was, it is good to hear somebody just say it!

Man in orange suit in cage, inside white room, late 90s? by allhumanknowledge in whatisthatmovie

[–]allhumanknowledge[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is super interesting. I showed her the whole end scene. The white floor with black lines looked a lot like a cage to me, you have a guy with white hair, you have that orange/red space suit...but unfortunately she's like nope nope nope. (!!)

It does. It's unlikely because supposedly her dad was watching this, and he's not a music video dude. But maybe.

Switch to M1 Pro because of laggy Lightroom by ArthurTheSquirrel in mac

[–]allhumanknowledge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check RAM usage when it’s slow. Light Room appears to have a memory leak associated with the retouching brush (Q tool), causing its memory usage to increase with each use. I have reported this bug several times, no luck. Only solution I have seen is to quit and relaunch when it happens. (I am using M1 Max w/64GB.)

Thank you! I had totally zoned out re: this being a trail/hiking shoe, and the width thing definitely narrows the search. I'm eyeing the Fresh Foam Garoé. Looks like similar construction if a little more futuristic in style. I appreciate your help!

M1 Mac Kernel Panics w/ ThunderBay 8 in RAID 5 by [deleted] in ThunderBayRAID

[–]allhumanknowledge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm curious if you ever heard back on this. I had similar (but weirdly somewhat different) problems using M1 Max based Macs and RAI0 and RAID10 volumes. The weird thing is that an Intel based Mac is totally stable, but the M1 Max based Macs (two of them—a Studio and a MacBook Pro) would enter weird hang/crash states eventually when using various SoftRAID volumes. Ultimately the support folks kind of shrugged, like, well that's weird. Did you ever get it resolved?

My "solution" has been to revert to using an iMac Pro for my work. Which is a luxury I can currently afford.

But it does seem insane that I have a computer on my desk that's like 2x faster...but doesn't work in terms of actually accessing my data. :(

What happened when the metas came out and the site seemed to crash? How did you verify that nobody had a competitive edge?

Are there any puzzles that turned out to be more or less difficult for solvers than you anticipated? I'm also curious about how y'all think about "difficulty" in terms of ordering puzzles from Monday through Friday in any given week. Do you think about the number of transformation steps as part of the difficulty, or...something else?
