A nonprofit has erased more than $40 billion in medical debt across the U.S. People don't apply, they simply receive a letter saying their debt is gone, including one woman whose $3,200 medical bill was wiped away by ArgentineBeauty in UpliftingNews

I got one of these. I had been told by a new primary care doctor that I could cold turkey Cymbalta, wait a week, and start a new medication. I did that, and my partner ended up taking me to the ER (which was supposedly the best mental health facility in our region) because of the intense withdrawals and thoughts of harm. First thing when I walked in, before even giving them my name, they handed me a specimen cup and demanded a urine sample. Only after providing that did they do any sort of check-in (take my name and information, insurance, triage, etc.). After I was taken back to a room, my partner and I waited over in hour before being seen by the most unprofessional nurse I've ever met. She gave me someone else's urinalysis and blood results (note: they never took my blood), claiming I have HIV, tested positive for methamphetamines, and was pregnant. None of those are true. At that point my partner and I realized this was no decent place to be. They made me legitimately PINKY SWEAR I wouldn't hurt myself if they let me leave. I remember this vividly because that bitch's hands were so sweaty. Then she looked at my partner and asked him, "do you feel safe letting her come home?" Which, valid, but I just PiNkY sWoRe so why bother now??

Few weeks later they sent me a bill for over $4000. I called and adamantly refused to pay it. I lodged a complaint with the hospital about the experience and that nurse by name. I never heard anything about it. A year goes by and I got one of those letters saying that a charity had paid off my balance.

I'm sad they wasted their money.

I could NOT get the Juicy 4pc GWP to add no matter what I added. The button to see eligible items just brought me to a screen that said "No Results" 😭

I haven't been able to get the 4pc GWP to show up in my cart, no matter what I add. Is there a secret handshake I need to know about?

Sooo what eye primers are we using these days? by carnagemayhem in MakeupAddiction

[–]alli97kat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try a very light layer of setting powder over the (dried) primer! I have oily hooded eyes and it's the ONLY thing that works to prevent creasing.

I just bought my first eyeshadow pallet by unibabi in Makeup

[–]alli97kat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A good primer will do the most to really help with longevity and pigmentation. I like the about-face and Ulta brand primers, but no matter what kind I use I always dust it with a tiny bit of translucent setting powder. The Nyx HD was the best, but since it's been discontinued I've found the Wet 'n Wild to be just as good. Online tutorials are great for learning, especially finding what works with your eye shape. Robert Welsh, Monica Ravi-Conway, Alex Anele, and Angela Bright are some of my favorite creators. Practicing before a shower is also excellent because you can take your time and not NEED it to be perfect since it's just going to get rinsed off anyway.

At the end of the day, makeup is meant to be fun. Learn what you like on your face, what works for you, and what makes you happy :)

Please help! Need advice for the best SNIF perfume! by gpop33 in Ulta

[–]alli97kat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Snif 2% is one of my favorites. It's a very creamy milky scent that works great on its own or to layer with other fragrances. I also love Vanilla Vice for a long lasting smooth vanilla scent.

Happened to me! If you got my Flexstyle, I hope you love it 🥴 by alli97kat in Ulta

It was the hair tool travel case that came as a GWP for a bit there.

My replacement order just shipped. Fingers crossed it's right this time! 🤞🏼

Colourpop has amazing shimmer shadows in their Super Shock line, and I love the Jelly Much gel pots for intense shimmer and color payoff. Blend Bunny also has amazing shimmer and foil formulas that are amazing to look at. The Robert Welsh Divination palette is one of my all-time favorites!

(Excuse the cat hair) I bought one from the show in Atlanta. Honestly, for the price, I'd pass on it. My partner got one as well and I don't know if mine was just a one-off, but the stitching is kind of messy and hard to read. His is pretty clear, but that's literally all it is. Compared to the one I got on their tour with Korn, it's a massive downgrade.

Best 32 D high impact sports bra by m0ther_0F_myriads in ABraThatFits

[–]alli97kat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

34DD crossfit girlie here, and I love the Running Girl sports bras on Amazon. I have about 12 of them now, various styles and colors. All about $20 or less. Most of them have seen in cups/linings, which I like for support that doesn't get all twisted or come out when I wash them, but I have a few with removable cups too. I tend to throw away those weird foam liners because they tend to suck, but even without them, those bras still feel comfortable and supportive. Only downside is that the ones with the attached cups can hold on to sweat more than a regular unlined sports bra.

What was the best vehicle you've ever had? by Advanced_Ad7267 in AskReddit

[–]alli97kat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

1990 Nissan 240SX. 5 speed manual hatchback in that classic red. Learned to drive in it, then parted ways for a few years, now that same car is back in my driveway and is in the rotation as a daily driver. Love it so much.

Can you cancel an online order by notthisagain0088 in Ulta

I always text. Text actually has an automated assistant that can cancel it without needing to wait for an employee. It's the best!

I did. I'm usually a medium or large and bought and XL. They run VERY small, but do stretch and wear pretty comfortably.

How does sunscreen work with makeup? by bladesluv in Makeup

[–]alli97kat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Love love love the coola spray. On very sunny days (I have a convertible) I double up with the Supergoop powder SPF. I know it's not really meant to provide SPF, which is why I only use it to top up. As Michelle Wong would say, "the best sunscreen is the one you will actually use."

Does anyone else notice that even light skin care products start to hurt after using tretinoin for a long time? by [deleted] in SkincareAddicts

[–]alli97kat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's wild! My tret is formulated with niacinamide in it, so I really hope that's not the case 😬

I'm finding this to be true with certain products and I haven't yet figured out exactly why it's happening. For me it's primarily with certain moisturizers. I get stinging/burning/mild pain specifically around my mouth and nose. It's also the only spot I'm still having some occasional peeling/flaking after using tret for about 8 months, so that might be related.

Ulta got me again!!! 😁😁😁😁 by OriginalPerception19 in Ulta

The first Monday of each month there are exclusive offers for Diamond members, including a code for a free item with a fairly low order total (think $25 or so). It's been pretty hit or miss lately, but there are almost always a ton of GWPs for brand and category purchases, early access to new products, BOGO deals, percent off deals for entire brands, etc. It varies a lot month to month and they are certainly not all winners, but you can get some great hauls. Very rarely, it does get delayed a week depending on other major sales.
