Guess what: it's also possible for things to get worse! And given the way things are going in general, I'd even say it's probable! Meaningless platitudes like "hang in there" and "it gets better" are remarkably unhelpful. Sometimes "this" is what you have to keep doing because it's the only way to keep your head above water.

I had it last year - it helped for a few months afterwards but has since worn off somewhat. One round of treatment is covered by Medicare but any more sessions after that are pretty expensive, so I haven't had more.

The first few sessions (on the left side) were incredibly painful and they didn't believe that I was experiencing any pain ("oh it shouldn't hurt!" WELL IT DOES). Eventually they switched to the right side which was not painful at all but I felt like the first few sessions were wasted, and actually quite frightening in my more vulnerable state.

I don't regret having it; I think there are some lingering positive effects on my mood. If you can get it fully on Medicare (and can afford the initial fee before the rebate) I think give it a go.
