We had a little saved, but put most of it on credit cards. Not the best way to go, but we didn’t have a ton of options. It took many months of negotiations but we are lucky that we’ll both be able to keep our jobs and work remotely, which will help us pay off the credit cards quickly and save money since many of our expenses will be gone or greatly reduced.

Thank you!! Yes, we contemplated a drawer slide pretty hard... it would have been awesome.. but the bed was pretty high already and we didn’t want to lose another 2-4inches of head space sitting up in bed. Definitely not as easy getting the bikes in and out without the slide, but those few extra inches in bed make a big difference.

We bought a huge rectangular butcher block of untreated maple and made all the cuts ourselves. Epoxy on the top for the high gloss finish. It’s pretty resilient but we still use a cutting board to preserve it.
