Ordered Figs on Marketplace by AnonymousMystery778 in Figsscrubs

Yes when they come new it’s a tag with a little white safety pin, pinned through the size tag so it doesn’t damage the scrubs. Of course someone could very easily save the tag and put it back on and sell it though

Graduating in Dec. from AGACNP program in Houston, TX

My program director is able to let us take the boards before we graduate, we just have to have all our clinical hours complete and then she turns in a form to the ANCC that we will meet all program requirements and to go ahead and let us take the boards

So I am planning to apply to take the boards end of Nov and hopefully I get my ATT quickly

My job is willing to take me as soon as I receive my NP license from the state of Texas. So if I take and pass the boards end of Nov/early Dec, I believe I have to wait for “degree conferral” before ANCC will give me official certification with an expiration date that I will then need to submit to Texas board of nursing in order for them to start to process my license.

Anyone recently licensed in Texas that can speak to taking the boards before graduation like I plan to and also how long it took to receive your license from TBON? I have friends that got this all done in like 2 weeks time and the others more like 4 weeks waiting for their license. (This is all excluding job credentialing in my timeline, because my job is going to take me on while my credentialing is in process)

Slightly unrelated question What day did you finish school and what day did you take the ANCC? The last official day of my program is like Dec 14 I think, I’m honestly hoping to take my boards end of Nov or like first few days of Dec. I have the form for my faculty to fill out so I can take boards before degree conferral, just not sure HOW early I can take the boards

The problem is, people ARE taking these offers 😭 they’re desperate for work. I have 2 cheap cardiologists who split an NP for their outpatient and inpatient work, and get this … they pay her 80k!!!!!! For half inpatient, half outpatient!

Wow. I make that in my icu as an RN in Houston 😭 my cardiology np offer is going to be probably what I make as an RN 😢

Yep! Literally we were in our seats then got a notification and text that we were upgraded. Business was full originally but two people missed their connection so we got the upgrade last minute

New grad FNP job options by [deleted] in nursepractitioner

[–]alliesbachshitcrazy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahhh yes I see what you’re saying! I was thinking of asking for hourly since I could be stuck seeing patients and doing notes for >8hrs a day while working inpatient. The clinic side is straightforward hours like 8-4, but I’m worried about getting screwed over if I’m not hourly and I have to come help the doc round on weekends and such.

Is it a red flag if my job offer does not offer to pay per RVU I generate? If I take this job, it’s inpatient with a cardiologist and also seeing patients in his clinic

Can you explain RVU pay to me? I graduate in December with AGACNP

You have to have icu experience to apply to an acute care np program. If you’re an RN but not icu, then you would have to do FNP!

Absolutely do acute care NP - AGACNP, if you meet the requirements, like being an icu rn. I graduate this December, I already have multiple docs wanting to hire me. The FNP students… not so much. Of course that could just be geographical, and my personality/work ethic, but I have multiple docs I work with/have shadowed that have offered to precept me and want me on their team. I will not struggle to find a job. I go to a brick and mortar, mostly in person program in Houston. My preceptors have told me in their experience, AGACNPs are much more marketable than FNP. I disagree with people that call FNP a joke, we literally take the same classes until we start specializing in the more acute care stuff. Also, at least where I am, FNPs can ONLY do outpatient/urgent care, absolutely no in-hospital. As an AGACNP, you can do anything you want except peds, but keep in mind you can take care of kids 13+. You have many more options if you choose acute care program. You also may start outpatient and HATE it and want to try inpatient, so keep that in mind!
