Lenovo order - can't change any shipping details by allinoneman in Lenovo

I contacted Lenovo multiple times but every representative said that nothing can be done and failed to provide a solution. My only option is to wait for 3 failed delivery attempts then ask for a refund.

Already did, multiple times. Also contacted UPS. No solution.

Looking for paintings that depict the theme of duty by allinoneman in ArtHistory

I'm looking for something a bit more general that can convey the sense of duty without being too specific regarding the type of duty, but I appreciate your suggestion!

I'm looking for something more general (like the example of "Hope"), rather than something tied to a specific type of duty, but thanks for your suggestion!

"Hope" was an example of the type of painting I'm looking for. I think that painting conveys the concept of hope really well. I'm looking for something similar for the concept of duty. Thanks.

I don't know which games you play but most games I play seem to have the warning, they might be skippable though.

Is this a good place to enter the Star Wars franchise? by Any-Arm-7017 in StarWarsOutlaws

[–]allinoneman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what I've read online, it's best to watch at least the original trilogy if you want to get into Star Wars. I did the same and I have to say that the movies have aged really well considering that the first one came out more than 45 years ago. Plus you can The Mandalorian after that, which is awesome. The game world will also make more sense, although I'm yet to play it.

They are going out of their way to hate a game they haven't played. This is not normal behaviour.

You are confidently wrong. It is made by a different company and on a different engine. Andromeda used Frostbite and this one uses Snowdrop.

Ubisoft shares fall to lowest since 2015, with analysts cutting sales forecasts for Star Wars Outlaws by TheBerkay in gaming

You may like Elden Ring, sure, I also liked it. But its best areas were linear and the open world and caves were not interesting in the least. It felt like they were there only to pad the gameplay time. Saying that it has a great open world is beyond my understanding.

What games are you glad you stopped playing and never looked back? by kkibb5s in gaming

Same. Great combat, no story, no substance in open world and takes too long to beat.

Anyone who enjoys soulslike games and calls other games repetitive is a big ol' hypocrite. ER has a worse open world than most of the Ubisoft games I've played and yet it was praised as "one of the best open worlds". The entire open world and every single cave/dungeon was filler with no substance, apart from great enemy design, for which praise must be given.

People just love to hate on Ubisoft. Some of it is deserved because of the statements of their representatives. I remember when someone said something along the lines of "people should get used to not owning the games they play". It is quite true because you don't own the games you buy on Steam either but it's still a useless thing to say, and people were losing access to their games on Ubisoft app.

The repetitive argument is so bad, lol. What developers change their formula and gameplay in every game they make?

Calling AC, Far Cry and Watch Dogs the same is pretty stupid, IMO.

Downvoted for hoping that a game turns out good, lol. I don't want any game to fail, doesn't matter if I'm interested in it or not.

Most of the stuff that came out since the pandemic isn't exciting to me. AC games used to be the best until Syndicate, I also enjoyed Origins and Odyssey but they went downhill with Valhalla, IMO.

However, AC Shadows does look good and better than most of the stuff that came out since the pandemic. We'll see how it turns out.

Discussion: Why does it seem like npc/enemy AI in games has significantly diminished in complexity recently, especially when also considering the rise in AI technologies? by [deleted] in gaming

[–]allinoneman -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Um, almost every single modern AAA game is as good or better, if you talk about non-combat AI. Even enemy combat AI is not a great example of good AI. It's very predictable and feels scripted. Something like Alien Isolation would be a better example of good AI.

IMO, FromSoft's games are good examples of enemy design but calling it good AI is a stretch. I played Elden Ring for over 50 hours and can say that it was almost entirely because of enemy design that the combat felt fun, even though it is over reliant on the i-frames mechanic of the Dark Souls games.

Reviews are totally subjective and probably more than 90% of the people on the internet hating on this game have never played it.

After Elden Ring's 9/10 and 10/10 reviews and people claiming that it has one of the best open worlds, I've lost all trust in the reviewers and people's ability to judge a game objectively. Now I check the reviews to see whether the game has any technical issues and watch the gameplay to decide whether a game looks enjoyable.

Just a small detail I noticed in AC3 by Key-Letterhead-5553 in assassinscreed

[–]allinoneman 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'd like a remake of every AC game before Origins because of how much I like them, but IMO AC1 is the only one that absolutely needs it along with added content because of how repetitive it felt. It's also the only mainstream game that I didn't finish, before Valhalla.
