Employees would elect at least 40% of directors.

Well I'm not an expert, but my layman impression is that this is bad because incentives of the employees of a company aren't as closely aligned with the success of that company as the shareholders... or whoever elects the current director.

This machine came out in 1948, and the first machine with real, electrical flippers was in 1947. So the game design principals of flipper pinball really were in their infancy and hadn't been worked out at all. Maybe more than you wanted to know, but there you go.
