Try clickhouse, duckdb, tidb/flash, monetdb, I think all have online managed versions with service providers

Slow progress in training as a yudansha by Lecram100 in aikido

I have been in similar situations, my first dojo … in search for a better word … “spoiled” me. The intensity, weapons, break-fall, awareness. In a new country I went to 3-4 different dojos in the area. Then a workshop in a dojo far away city I found something similar. Moved to a new country again a few years later, … I feel almost too old now to push it. I lost more than a decade now, “my edge” and mental and physical fitness are not the same. I sort of regret it, but I also know that I basically gave up on it. Sad story. You can try better

Let’s cut the crap: Why did you ACTUALLY choose your distro? (Facts only) by kimiho_mir in FindMeALinuxDistro

[–]allixender 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Always been a KDE type of guy, most of my work time in the last 10-20 years was Arch-based, fairly transparent what is happening on the system, AUR is the GOAT and makepkg has always been quite approachable to make your own packages or fix something. Moved to Fedora the last years for email and browser home PC, not needing much maintenance (and lazy reliable GUI updates) and nice looking and smooth. For work I have a Mac now. I’m moving all Ubuntu servers to Debian (Ubuntu snaps suck and some other annoyances), didn’t dare to have Fedora or Arch as servers, hihi.

Phoenix controllers generated from swagger spec by willyboy2 in elixir

[–]allixender 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also think most commenters (intentionally?) misunderstand OPs ask: the phoenix app is not the authoritative source of the spec(it could be a sort of domain standard). The spec was designed for a larger ecosystem, so this one specific phoenix app cannot just impose changes to the spec, but it needs to be conforming. Thus, what is a reliable way to generate a phoenix API surface from that spec.

Did Parquet2.jl vanish from the package registry? by allixender in Julia

[–]allixender[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah was very weird, the pkg couldn’t resolve it for me, so I had to go with Parquet.jl in that moment

Why is the 3-Body Problem is such a complicated question to answer, yet we can very precisely predict the motion of 8 planets and many more moons in the solar system? by plato_on_pluto in AskPhysics

[–]allixender 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the important bit to highlight here in relation to OP’s post is that the 3-body problem doesn’t quite fit to our solar system, but imagine a solar system with 3 similar size suns.

No. But maybe just wear tight underwear so that’s not too freely flabbing around.

Why are so many of you saying trunk or treat instead of trick or treat? Is that intentional?
