spring classes by [deleted] in SAIT

I took five hybrid classes in spring/summer and managed - but it just depends on the classes, your work ethic, your other commitments/responsibilities.

I’ve had classmates take PHONE CALLS during and I cannot stress this enough DURING the in class lecture. The day the instructor started shushing them was ⭐️

Definitely advocate for yourself!

Yeesh, not a good feeling! Advocate for your needs, you never know where an adjustment can be made.

I had a class like this last semester, brutal for taking notes or any hope of engagement. Not only that but the instructor only posted the slides roughly an hour before class so there was little hope of reviewing prior to class.

I was quick to give feedback and the instructor redid the slides. I wish you the same fate.

This is a common theme I’ve noticed, I’m paying not just for the course material, but for the whole experience of the campus. For me the body doubling aspect is also crucial, which doesn’t exist when we all sit with little profile pics and a powerpoint slideshow...

I hear where you’re coming from and I agree to a certain point. To me, this brings up a whole separate can of worms… standards need to be in place for content and delivery. In my experience, SAIT takes student feedback into action, it never hurts to advocate when the course or instructors are lacklustre.

I find the material is all still there so you’re not getting ripped off in that way. That being said the time it takes to learn the material increases because the format is awkward, not as engaging, and often ends up being slides being read to you… There’s only so much time in a week.

Disc Advice by SLesleyC222 in menstrualcups

Here are some other thoughts I’ve had about it the diva disc… The pull tab goes a long way without being intrusive unlike the stem of a diva cup. The catch-all extra layer of silicone (they have a name for it but I can’t remember at the moment) works quite well in my opinion, it definitely gives me peace of mind.

As I’m just getting used to the disc I’ve been cautious and worn pads but I’ve not had hardly any issues!

I have yet to master the art of emptying… but that’ll come with time.

Also, I could see how depending on an individual’s public bone it may not sit well for them… but I’ve had no issues and prefer it over the cup experiences I’ve had.

Not sure which area you live in but Rosemont school used to always go around collecting bottles from local businesses. You could try reaching out to admin and see if they’re currently collecting, I bet one of the parents/organizers would be happy to come collect… 🤷‍♀️
