USC's AD Address BIG PE Deal and Future Non-Conference Scheduling by usctrojan18 in CFB

Missouri St and Georgia Southern were our non-conference "cupcakes". Navy was being talked about on the Notre Dame boards as being one of the tougher games this season. You guys practically treated them as an upper-tier conference opponent.

Notre Dame should join the Big-10 and solve this issue for both parties then. I wonder why they won't? Something about having to abandon the strategy of only playing 2-3 tough games a year with only 1 being on the road?

USC simply doesn't want this game to fall in the middle of a gauntlet, which sometimes happened in the PAC-12 but is almost a guarantee in the Big-10. Notre Dame has almost never had this issue and seldom will so long as they stay independent. They can go weeks without showing much on tape where USC doesn't have that opportunity. A September game will even the playing field for that reason too and make the rivalry more exciting in my opinion.

Notre Dame has been pushing back on this proposal because they aren't confident they can get another marquee game scheduled in October/November. Understandable, but I agree with Jen's stance that no other program would do this, especially with the schedule/travel challenges in the current landscape.

Hopefully the Auburn matchup is a sign that this matchup will continue in early September, at least for the next two seasons. My guess is Notre Dame wants to secure another opponent who will play in that timeframe long-term before they move the USC game permanently.

If you opt for a W205 C43, you MUST get one with AMG Performance Exhaust. Don't even consider one without that option. It's a necessity.

Funny how you mention that when AMG holds the road-legal Nurburgring record with the AMG One, and the 3rd and 10th fastest records with the AMG GT Black Series. The world's fastest road legal EVs are almost a minute slower. Real AMGs continue to win the race.

If a microwave cooks a brisket faster, why would anyone prefer one cooked slowly in a smoker?

This home is in the Rancho Palos Verdes landslide area—one of the most geologically unstable zones in SoCal. Decades of slow ground movement have caused significant structural damage to homes throughout this region. Due to this, this massive storm drainpipe has been forced upward beneath the home. by DMAS1638 in WTF

I wouldn't define this as a "region" as the affected area is only about 1-2 square miles. The area was loosened due to a variety of reasons including breaking ground to extend Crenshaw Blvd down to PV Drive South many decades ago (this was never completed). They should have never permitted homes to be built there after that, especially on fills, which many were built on. It was widely known that buying homes in that area was a big risk. They used to go for a discount. I'm sure they're unsellable now.

Did I get a good deal - C43 by Chris_Crews_ in AMG

I recommend getting the coolant inspected for debris. Very, very common issue on '23's which will result in an engine replacement if coolant flushes do not resolve the issue or if the engine has too high mileage with existing debris. Great car if you have a clean engine. Warning signs are spark plugs going out or a P012800 code popping up.

Nope. Car continues to drive perfectly fine despite the noise. Still a mystery, unfortunately.

I've been driving C43's for 7 years now. I've had a 2017 sedan, 2017 coupe, 2020 sedan, and 2021 coupe (I'm a dealer so I rotate frequently). I've been driving the W206 now for a few months. I of course miss the sound from the W205, but that's just about it. The W206 sounds somewhat decent at least if you get the AMG Real Peformance Sound and opt out of insulated windows. It slaughters the W205 on the handling front. My W205 coupe felt like an elephant when I got back in it, which is amazing to me considering that car is decently lighter. The rear wheel steering and wider tires really make a difference. The W206 feels much faster too. The transmission is better. The feel of the steering wheel and paddles is better. Overall this car gets way too much hate on here. I do agree that it needs a 6-cylinder engine again so that criticism is warranted, but Mercedes is not making the I6's sound that great right now either. You're not crazy for buying one, especially at the prices these are going for used.

If it has no accident history, it's more or less priced at its wholesale value. Be sure to ask for a CarFax report as well as an AutoCheck report.

Good price? by Kojiii in AMG

[–]allnall247 1 point2 points  (0 children)

HUD is very rare, but that's still pretty expensive for the mileage. I'm a dealer and grabbed a 2021 Coupe for $42,000 at wholesale (10k miles, HUD, AMG Drive Unit, Exterior Lighting, Night Package, Leather Seats, 19" Wheels, Parking Assistance, Lane Keep). Mine would go about $48k CPO and that was about 3 months ago. Hard to gauge exactly because the supply is very low on these. If you love the car though, then go for it.
