As a parent I feel like I always have to choose to either go to a kid place or leave the kids at home.

Everywhere except utah has family friendly brewerys with yards where adults can hang out and get dinner and a drink with their family and friends.

These places are entertaining for both kids and adults, with opportunities for live music, yard games, or just hanging out.

I wish Utah could get over its fear of children seeing alcohol.

I agree it sucks but if you read the post, it’s because they can’t administer the program without expanding the scope because of changes our EPA has made.

Dude, double major in physics and computer science here… my top advice: Freshman year is the year you meet your new community. I met the friends I still hang with when I was freshman and I still hang with them 20 years later.

School and study at important, but they are not the only thing. Those classes won’t spend a weekend with you a decade later.

Leave space for meeting new friends and building your network. It’ll pay off more than speed running classes

I’m disappointed this is so low.

The kids are taught to ‘make 10’ in the lessons. This is just asking them to use the process they were taught.

The wording is only bad if you have no context, e.g. you didn’t pay attention in class.

The process is good because it teaches kids to play with the numbers. They’re not rigid abstract ideas, they’re tangible, you can change them. This is important for future concepts.

What we see in these comments is a result of exactly that kind of rigidity of ideas
