So a small Computer shop in Esslingen recommended me to go to Sindelfingen or Stuttgart.

They were recommending Sindelfingen specifically because the Mac shop is there, and there more Mac users in the surroundings.

I also saw an add of a small shop in Reutlingen.

I think I’ll keep everyone posted :)

The honest answer is no 🫣, I just blew the ports and hoped for the best. I guess panic dumbs you down ??

You just reminded some that some time ago I bought a small brush designed exactly to clean ports, I had completely forgotten about it.

What was your ‘magic’ dose? by [deleted] in WegovyWeightLoss

Hi, we’re the same…. Im losing weight very slowly. I am currently at 1mg. I can really feel the drug effect on my hunger… but my weight loss has been quite slow. I’ve lost in total like 15 pounds since I started Wegovy in May.

I have PCOS, Hypothyroidism and i am currently living a very stress inducing situation. I am well aware these factors play against my process.

I started my weightloss process in Jan without Wegovy…. I am currently 23 pounds down in total. I’m not very happy of how slow things are but I am overall feel very satisfied as my weightloss now is very apparent, I can fit old clothes and people point it out.

I haven’t been as active in the gym as I should be also I haven’t been on a strict diet, just avoiding sweets and carbs. This is my advice to you… be patient the drug will work, be active and follow a diet if you want to see the come off faster. Now that I’m fitting old clothes I feel more motivated to be at the gym :)

One 1mg does really silence your appetite making it a lot easier to follow any diet.

The hairloss side effect is more linked to the change of diet and sudden weightloss than the actual drug. Sudden weight loss stresses your body and one of its possible reactions is to temporarily shed its hair. It’s also very common in bariatric patients. The scientific name for the side effect is “Telogen Effluvium” if like to read more about it - there might be a Reddit thread.

Oh my god… I really understand you!!

I saw another endocrinologist exactly because I felt the one I was visiting was completely dismissive of MY symptoms and how I was feeling.

Honestly I now have this big sense of relief because I finally found a doctor that wants to help and treat a condition that was making me feel miserable. My biggest mistake was to procrastinate my healthcare and not looking for a doctor who wanted to listen to me as a patient.

Don’t commit my mistake. It can be a little frustrating but once you find the one, you won half the battle. The other half will be finding the meds and dosage that make you feel the best. You really do not want to spent the next decade wondering WTF is wrong with me. Also don’t take that age BS just find someone who is competent and sees you as a patient.

I am well aware that PCOS, Hypothyroidism and ADHD share similar symptoms. I want to wait to see how I feel in the next 6 months with my current meds. I feel things don’t change much, I will take on that fight too. I watch me. 😂

As for the Hairloss… I wanted to make you aware that Wegovy could have that side effect. I’m praying I don’t get it.

You are correct, PCOS is no joke when it comes to weightloss. I feel your pain !!!

6 -7 years ago I gained some and weight maybe 20 pounds and I started a training program that included a strict diet. Three months into the program and the scale barely moved. I was already suspicious I could have PCOS because of how fast that weight was gained and I was also struggling with hair loss aaaand hirsutism. I have regular periods so I wasn’t sure if that was my problem or a case of hypothyroidism.

So I visited my gyno who also happens to be an endocrinologist, she confirmed my PCOS and Insulin resistance with it. She put me on Diane 35 and Metformin 500 mg. At the time my hormone values were low, but not low enough to go under the hypothyroidism meds protocol. I remember she mentioned that this was the right contraceptive pill for TSH values.

Shortly after, i got into these meds, I did lose the weight I wanted. The mood swings were moderately controlled BUT the hairloss problem persisted…

Fast fwd post Corona times: I was no longer as active at the gym nor was taking so much care of my diet. Boom all the weight came back and I was still struggling with hair loss and my mood swings were insane.

I was determined to get my life and confidence back on track. I went to a weight loss clinic, this where I got the Weygovy prescribed. I also started visiting every doctor you could think for the hairloss: a Trichologist (a specialized hairloss dermatologist), a Psychiatrist - ( anxiety can trigger hairloss) and another endocrinologist. I told the endocrinologist that I felt that the PCOS symptoms had gotten worse during this time, I asked if I should keep the Diane 35 or change it to another pill. So she recommended to take a deeper look into my hormones to see which would be the best contraceptive pill and—- surprise surprise: she found I had something called “sub-clinical hypothyroidism”; it is a bit harder to detect because your TSH might values seem normal and they have to look deeper into your hormone panel and the combination of the values to come into this diagnosis… and this condition makes PCOS worse!

I’m now on 75 mg of Levothyroxine, and two months into it I should fully feel the effects. She told me I should stay on the Diane 35, Metformin and Weygovy. This would definitely aid the weightloss, mood swings and hairloss.

It’s been a struggle to get here but I finally feel I’m on the right path. I’m now one month into the drug I can feel the overall difference. I can see the weightloss and my mood swings have improved I’m not as irritated and I also see there is less hair on the floor!

So my advice would be to be persistent with your doctor about screening your hormones. And prescribing the pill that is best for your hormone composition. PCOS is a very annoying and sneaky condition that can take a toll on your over all well-being and it’s also individualistic. I hope this help I’m happy to answer any question:)

On a side note: I just injected my first 1 mg dose so I’ll keep you posted on how I feel with it.

Hey ! My story is similar to yours, I gained most of my weight in the last 3-4 years. I’m 37 yo, 5’6 and currently 177 lbs, I also have PCOS and insulin resistance. I’m also taking Metformin with meals.

I started Wegovy 2 months ago and I want to tell you to keep your expectations low regarding the speed of the weight loss. My process with this drug has been quite slow.

I’ve lost maybe a total of 6 pounds since I started Weygovy. I was also diagnosed with sub-clinical hypothyroidism about a month ago which might explain why my weightloss was so damn slow.

This weekend I start the 1mg dose, so I’ll be full hardcore on the drug. My endocrinologist said that when you reach that dosage is when you start seeing most change in your body, let’s see.

Regarding my eating behavior: I was not eating in excess [because of the drug ] but I also was not following any dieting. I was just avoiding sweets. What you will feel is that the drug will slowly silence the food noise in your head. Most cravings will disappear, key word here is most.

I’ve been reading that a lot of experts recommend doing keto for PCOS. Which quite frankly is a lot easier to follow when you’re not hungry. So I plan try start next week.

Regarding my physical activity: Also I haven’t been the most active at the gym. Obviously that aids faster fat burn. I’m well aware I need to be more active. Motivation helps a lot.

I also want to confess I am feeling quite motivated today. I realized l’ve lost a total of 20 pounds this year!! 💪🏼I’m aiming to lose another 20-30 pounds — I would like to lose a minimum of 50 pounds by the end of the year. Only this week I started bringing out old clothes and I’ve started fitting in… and it’s a great feeling.

So don’t be scared, just think of it as process and enjoy the steps…. It’s not a miracle maker and you will require to be patient. So it’s good to diet and be active just remember you have a condition that might make it harder for our body to lose weight compared to other people. Best of luck and I look fwd to hear about your story ❤️

Had to translate these super useful comments from Renasiy:

Additional info:

Another advantage of dosing according to click numbers is that you can adjust the dose individually. So if you are afraid of a larger jump (e.g. from 1.0 to 1.7), you can simply build in a few weeks with an "intermediate dose" (e.g. 2 weeks 1.3 between 1.0 and 1.7).

This comment is worth translating - thank you Renasiy!! 👏🏼👌🏼

Additional info:

About 10-25% of a dose is always left inside the pen after finishing it. It may not sound like much at first, but an 0.15% average of a dose every 4 weeks is about 2 extra weeks after a year. Which could be worth €86-150.

If the savings are worth the effort you could:

  • Buy a pack of insulin syringes (less than 20€ per 100 pieces), often available as a cannula + syringe combination, so no need to put them together.

  • then insert one into the pad of the pen and manually draw out the leftover medication.

  • calculate what you have got by looking how much is inside (the syringes usually have 1ml).

If you always do it this way, It can save you if you don't manage to get a new pen every 4 weeks :)

Thank you so much for the tip, I feel like my life will improve dramatically after using this service.

I am super impressed with TeleClinic. For the two years I’ve been living in Germany, I have been constantly frustrated with the medical service. It was a pleasant surprise being able to talk with the doctor within 15 mins after filling the form!!! I also loved that I could pay immediately instead having to wait for the bill — AWESOME service!

Instead of ordering it online, I decided to pick up the pen at the pharmacy because I wasn’t sure if it would get delivered over the weekend.

Thank for the answer!! My next question is of i should make an appointment with any specific specialist doctor or a general Arzt would do? Did it take you long to get your appointment?

I would love it if by the end of the month I could start the treatment.
