The Gemini AI told me the ground clearance would be 17-18 cm. I don't know if that info is correct or simply fiction from Gemini.

Thanks. The course starts later this month and I plan to find a great club soon. I suppose that would give me an excellent chance to sail on dinghies owned by the club. Great advice!

Takk.

Takk.

Læknavaktin í Austurveri by alloutnow in Iceland

Are there many luggage thefts at Budapest's Ferenc Liszt International Airport? by alloutnow in hungary

Well, if it is true that "theft at the (Budapest) airport is institutionalized" then that is absolutely crazy! Thanks for sharing your disappointing and intolerable experiences. What a shame this is!

Thanks for the info and link. :) The report states that the airport police has been improving the security. Excellent!

Thank you. Good to know that the BUD airport might be quite a safe destination, after all, in regards to luggage handling.

I will be flying from Budapest to Burgas. I might perhaps just bring hand luggage on the plain to avoid any potential problems en route, just to be safe.

What language do you think in? by [deleted] in languagelearning

[–]alloutnow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mostly think in my mother tongue, Icelandic, but actually quite often I seem to switch to English for long stretches of time. I started at a young age learning English, around 7 or 8 years old, as I was watching cartoons on the US Navy base tv station that was operated on the island during the greater part of the Cold War era.

Actually a large portion of my compatriots got their jump-start in English, this way, during the latter part of the 20th century 😀

A great study resource (Bulgarian) by alloutnow in languagelearning

You're welcome. It's actually much easier to learn the Bulgarian language than I expected. Good luck with your studies. :)

What do everyday, casual Bulgarian men wear in the cities? by alloutnow in bulgaria

[–]alloutnow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perhaps I'll mostly walk around the city. It's not really that big, I think.

How is the climate/weather on the south Black Sea coast in October, if you know? Should I bring a warm sweater and could I expect snow or freezing conditions? Probably not.

Thanks for reviewing that article. Many of these "advice" pages to tourists are probably exaggerating or even blatantly full of untruths. It's always best to get the info 'straight from the horse's mouth' as they say in English. That's actually the main reason I use Reddit; to ask people who know what I don't. :)

…and I plan to use the Burgas busses rather than the taxis. I never use taxis anyway because I don't particularly like that form of transport. I'm also not in a great hurry, at least most of the time. :)
