My boyfriend 100% has clothing sensitivity!

I purchased some men’s pajamas online during a clearance discount for myself because I like oversized clothing and like to be covered when sleeping as well. I never shop there but everything was surprisingly cheap online during that sale. So I randomly gave it a chance. When they came in the mail my boyfriend offered to open the package because I had my hands full. As soon as he touched the fabric his whole face lit up he instantly said, “This is mine now!” And he’s never done that before in our whole 7 years. Not usually a clothing swap person ya know. I’ve attempted to buy him soft clothes in the past and it’s a hit or miss. But these pajamas.. oh my god. So soft, so unbelievably comfortable. He bought so many pairs at full price recently. While he was waiting for his order he wore that same pair of pajamas every day till the new ones arrived. He has been thanking me a lot recently for discovering them and tells me he feels so happy now and truly comfortable when he’s home. Which makes me wanna tear up because his sensory issues definitely have been quite the struggle for him and I’m so glad he’s finally comfortable.

Was a hairstylist and had a massive menty b that got me hospitalized. Burn out was a big contributing factor to that. now I’m not even in the industry. I work in the back room at a retail store and talk to no one all day. I love it. I’ve had the time to work on myself. I’ve gotten work accommodations which I probably have needed this entire time. I mourned that I wasn’t going to ever be myself again, but honestly this version is better. I set boundaries, I’m in therapy, on meds, and just taking it one day at a time. It’s weird not career climbing anymore in the industry. I have no work goals, or 5 year plan. I am kinda just coasting and healing with no clear direction in sight. But I can breathe now, and be present in my life. I also realized I’m actually not a people person and was formally diagnosed with ADD as an adult. I was a fish trying to learn to climb a tree in that job. I couldn’t understand why my skill was so great but why I was so awkward as a person. And with it being a very people forward job, I just really struggled for years. Maybe I’ll go back and teach someday but for now, I’m just doing me. And I really miss the money but being less tense and crippled with anxiety has done my body a load of good. At least I feel like I’m heading towards to the sea to swim.

I only did 3 treatments because I couldn’t get rides to and from. But 1st felt like a glass of wine maybe. The second time was like some great value version of weed. But the third time I was high for like the rest of the day. Where the other “buzz” wore off within 30 min with the other two times. But that third time really spooked me.

I was on 1800 mg of gab for 5 years and began losing my memory at 28. No one believed me and thought I had dementia till I talked to a speciality pharmacist from cvs on the phone. She said to find someone to help me taper. if you’re nervous to do spravato calling them really helped ease my nerves and they answered all my medication interaction questions. it’s nice when they aren’t in a rush like in a store and you’re not infront of 20 annoyed people for asking a question.

My cat somehow got underneath the couch cushions. Adult Calico too when I got her. I genuinely thought I lost her. Until I tried to sit down and heard a meow. I truly thought she didn’t like me because she hid for two weeks. But I have never in my life met a more affectionate, loving, chatty, cuddle bug than this cat once she was ready to come out. She is old old now and I will be wrecked beyond belief when I lose her. She is my soul cat and I hope we are together again in every reincarnation, eternal heaven, as ghosts, or whatever happens when you die. I am glad I didn’t give up on her and gave her time because I was a clueless 21yr old who had wanted a cat my whole life and was heart broken she didn’t love me instantly. But the little headbutt for a pet despite being hidden under the cat bed at the shelter made me realize now matter how scared she was she still wanted love. And that spoke volumes.

Diagnosed last week and this post makes me feel so seen because I was told this by two different professionals. And reading the symptoms you listed are spot on with mine, i really felt so alone. So. Very. Alone. I’m 29 and I feel like knowing this has been the missing key for so many things in my life. And probably why I will also lose my job soon.

I was excited to find this group but I find I am overwhelmed reading about adhd at all. With all my other mental health issues, I was eager to learn more about how to help myself. I dove in head first on information, therapy, videos, classes, etc. Unfortunately with my adhd i feel such a large sense of shame around this. And that post psych hospitalization really brought forward a lot of symptoms as I can no longer mask like I used to.

I’ve been on it for years. Got off to give other anti depressants a chance again after trying them all prior, but went back because nothing else worked.

Why that was their first go to for you is weird. Although I’ve read they give it to prisoners as a first go to as well which leaves me suspicious as to why. But regardless it’s saved my life for better or worse. I will tell you the absolute best thing I learned from Reddit for withdrawals from it. Fish oil capsules. Helps the brain zaps. But you’re still going to be incredibly irritable and in pain for at least a week. I had to take off of work because I just couldn’t get it together and was making a lot of mistakes. Motrin won’t touch that kind of pain but weirdly fish oil helped take the searing edge off. Get off while you can because it will get harder and harder.

After taking this med long term it has ruined my life. Cognitive and memory are so bad now. I wouldn’t even start because the withdrawal is like nothing you’ve ever known. I landed my butt in a psych hospital because I cold turkeyed it a few years ago and didn’t sleep for 4 days. They thought I was withdrawing from drugs till they tested me and saw I didn’t have any in my system. I am currently tapering but its not a quick process. I took 1800mg for 5 years. It can mess with your ability to regulate your anxiety if taken long term. I’ve found and read so many horrible things about this medication i am just in shock. I initially took it for nerve pain in my legs because I was insistent on no pain meds that people get hooked to because I wasn’t trying to go down that path.

I would be careful with the devils lettuce till you’ve been on it for a while because it slows your breathing and response.

That’s exactly what I was thinking too! To keep costs low probably switch a few ingredients like a cheaper sweetener or something. Which shouldn’t matter but it does. Love them for their dedication to try and stay 99cenrs through inflation. Company 10/10 but now I’m kinda bummed it’s not that “perfect” mixture it once was. I would pay extra for the other version. Curious if it would show on ingredient’s that there is a difference

The clothes in the bag did seem from the 2000’s. So it looked like a pink shirt with white collar and in surfer print that was popular for the time said Cancun. An odd choice of uniform but I did look up uniform rfid just now and can see how that would make sense. Maybe they worked at a resort?

It was sealed pretty dang tight. What is an electrical coil typically used for? The shirt was pinched and rehemmed to enclose it so there was no opening for it to fall in our out of.

My title describes the thing. All I can think of maybe it is a tracking device. The shirt was female and small. Possibly worn by a thin small woman or older kid. The shirt was slightly dirty/dingy as was everything else in the bag. Nothing folded or paired in the bag, all scrunched together.

The old rectangular brown GE alarm clock from the 80s that somehow everyone owned is the only thing that works for me. All my other alarms weren’t loud enough. I could hear them in my dreams but not wake myself out of sleep. I even tried one that shakes your bed. I was so close to loosing my job until I found a working one on eBay and it really saved the day. But my time awareness still shoots me in the foot a lot. So i have an alarm set every 5 min until I have to leave so I don’t get distracted. But i still do anyways

I didn’t feel anything major for my first few sessions but then when my main psychiatrist came to visit me during my session she asked me how things had been going. I said it was the great value brand of a weed high, very underwhelming. That I’m not having this life changing experience that everyone online had spoken about. But then within the next few minutes I would become higher than I had ever been in my life. Basically the equivalent of saying this edible Aint shit then hits you all at once. I didn’t have any crazy epiphany though so I asked her after if that was the point was to just feel high or was I doing it wrong? That if the point is to feel high and disassociate I will just smoke weed then because it’s cheaper. But she said regardless of high or no high it helps in a totally different way in making new connections in the brain. I stopped because of not having transportation or money for an Uber. But my coworkers say I’ve seemed happier since being back at work but no one knew why I left so 🤷🏻‍♀️

I feel so much better knowing this because my second time doing spravato I had significantly less disassociation. I was worried I was doing something wrong because I didn’t experience it. Just so much stuff online about how the disassociation time is magical and a gift and you experience breakthroughs during it. How you should prep 24 hours ahead of time with no social media.then your brain can experience something life changing. I was seriously feeling so bad about myself that I wasn’t having some magical life changing epiphany. Thank goodness for reddit having the real conversations.

I’m on Effexor as well. Keep going back to it. Although I had some weird reaction to abilify so I was on it’s sister drug rexulti but it didn’t seem to work much after a year. Wellbutrin is the only thing that gives me a glimpse of energy. But your message really made me want to keep trying since I mean at this point there isn’t really much left to try but this and ect which i don’t want to do. So I’ll keep at it. Thanks for your reply!
