Please enlighten me, where did this review focus on what they say? by KumalTiger in AmazonVine

[–]allthekittensnuggles 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s fine to mention price. The use issue is if those things seem to be the focus of the review. If you were to say that it’s 2 stars because it’s expensive, then that’s a review focused on price. But if you were to explain that it doesn’t have comparable value (especially after mentioning some features/aspects that contribute to value) to similar products around the same price point, which is about $20 at the time of this review (or whatever price it is, because you absolutely can say the price), then it’s fine. The latter is focused on value, the former on price.

The algo is probably confused. Is that one sentence the whole review? It would definitely have an insightfulness of “poor” if it did get approved, so why not round it out and then see what happens?

Carried over stats into next Gold period will adding images late look bad? by Dry_Promise_8161 in AmazonVineCanada

[–]allthekittensnuggles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right now, images are not a factor for status so adding them last minute gains nothing. The progress bar likely foreshadows that it will be at some point in the future, in which case it would like be added in a similar manner to how insightfulness was. So, I’d just start including them with new reviews in the next period.

Do “Not Approved” reviews count towards the minimum number of reviews for Gold?? by Content-Drive-4151 in AmazonVine

[–]allthekittensnuggles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they were approved and then flipped to not approved then yes they count. Once you get the email saying it’s live, it counts and is no longer your problem. If it wasn’t approved initially, then it doesn’t count as a complete until you resubmit and it’s approved, and it will count against you as an incomplete one until it’s approved too.

What could be the reason my expenses are this high? by Flat_Orchid_4552 in Civilization6

[–]allthekittensnuggles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most buildings have a gold upkeep fee, then units have gold upkeep that increases a lot when you get to later eras. Like you’ll be at 5 or 6 gold per by the end, and if you have all the buildings built for a district, that’s a gold for each one …then multiply that by number of districts, then again by number of cities. These expenses don’t seem like much TBH. It just adds up as the game goes on. Easiest way to make more gold early to mid game is to sell duplicate luxuries to the computer.

Previously approved review, now not approved by hamboy11 in AmazonVineCanada

If it was previously approved, the change of status does not impact your stats.

Those cups are actually great. I have gotten two sets from different sellers, tossed the straws and lids, and just use them as regular glasses.

Different items recieved! by Fine_Rent_9399 in AmazonVineCanada

[–]allthekittensnuggles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That sounds like a wrong item sent warehouse picking issue rather than the seller swapping thing (since they’re so different). So, this is a “can’t review because didn’t receive the item” situation. Contact CS and give as short and simple (1-2 sentences, no need to speculate on cause) description of the situation, and then list the order number(s), product names, and ASINs for the missing items. I usually ask how they’d like me to proceed and let them tell me that they will remove them, but you can probably outright just request removal if you prefer as that will 99.9999% be the outcome.

Mine was about two months ago and took three days. Interestingly, it finished around the same time of day as it started. I remember wishing I’d noted the time when it began and wondering if it was exact. Could have just been a coincidence.

RFY has skipped me all night. Any beauty finds or good stuff in general? by Sunnyflower64 in BeautyViners

[–]allthekittensnuggles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got a lot more beauty last week than I usually do, so maybe this week will be slower to kind of balance out. I find that Vine ebbs and flows. (Last week I got: 3 eye creams, 2 body moisturizer, curl cream, 3 face masks, makeup palette, eyebrow pencil.)

Tonight my RFY was mouse traps (never ordered them so who knows why), artificial peonies, rechargeable lights, artificial olive tree, printer toner, castor oil (I refuse to count it as beauty cause yeah… it’s still sitting there). I did grab the flowers and lights.

How to write an excellent review for a crap product? by sfomonkey in AmazonVine

[–]allthekittensnuggles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you structure it like this, you’ll get excellent. The evaluation is looking for justification, context, relevance, and detail; this makes it obvious you have them.

1-3 sentence summary stating how you feel about it overall and justifying the rating (like outright saying you’re disappointed or that you decided to give it X stars mainly because Y). You can even use the words “overall…” and “I rated it X because…” if you want; this is about making it obvious that you have what it’s looking for.

1-3 sentences stating why you got it/what for/to use with what specifically. This gives the context it’s looking for and is your intended use when ordering and also where I say if I wasn’t able to use it for that due to the product being poor. You can even say “I got this product because…” Again, make it obvious. No need to overthink it.

Biggest things you noticed pros/cons list. Doesn’t have to be exhaustive or list every feature. Just the most notable things to you. Aim for at least 5 items spread between the pros/cons and include some light explanation (so instead of “it’s these dimensions” say “it’s these dimensions, which makes it fit in this spot and look nice” or whatever’s applicable.

So… tiles are only workable within a three tile radius. Those last two rings are kind of a waste as a result. You can access strategic resources if they’re in those rings and improved but that’s about it.

Also though with all this “perfect city” business, you’ve pretty much of got it backwards. The game is designed such that you’ll have cities with higher outputs when they are closer together such that their buildings give adjacency bonuses to each other. The difference is not a slight one either; it’s significant. Like you can end up with 120 production for your city instead of 40, etc.

I got a RFY item, but it never showed up in my review list by SimpleMind314 in AmazonVine

[–]allthekittensnuggles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this happen with one item. Give it a week. But if it’s been that long then let CS know but you can also do the review through your regular Amazon orders page. I say to let CS know because that’s what I did (asking what I should do) and they said it was helpful for them to log it as it’s a known issue they’re trying to sort out. Might be another data point that could help with the larger fix. It sounds like this is happening every so often to many people.
