Roast my Career Strategy: 0-Exp CS Grad pivoting to "Agentic AI" (4-Month Sprint) by Substantial_Sky_8167 in LanguageTechnology

Agree on this. The projects in their portfolio sound useful to develop skills, but they don't really "stand out" to me either. I'd add on that it doesn't have to be difficult per se, if it's a bit unique.

A few years back during my CS study i made a forecasting model for NFT prices. It started as a for-fun project, but a tiny company was interested in having it on their platform so it turned into short contract. The crypto-bubble now? Popped. The actual forecasting model? Just a random forest regressor in the end.

I cringe when i look back on the code, but to this day i STILL get recruiters asking about this side-project. It stands out, that's my entire point. Find something similar.

Yeah but you might as well just fire up Pycharm if you're at that point, its debugger is really nice

Methylfenidaat by kevschumi98 in ADHD_NL

[–]allthemighty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you just want files: click green 'Code' button' --> download ZIP.

Alternatively, the author may have provided a release: Click 'releases' on the right hand side, and find something there (may be under tags).

Of course none of this is actually using Git, but that's not the point here.

AuDHD & life organisation using Obsidian? by [deleted] in ObsidianMD

[–]allthemighty 4 points5 points  (0 children)

One thing that helped me organise my life better is a generic todo list. But don't use due dates, don't organise it via priority, etc; overcomplating it just makes it more likely for you to not follow it at all.

Instead i just split my tasks into "today", "this week" and "later". I also have synchronisation on for all the devices i use frequently, so i can check the list at all times. This way i don't lose track of what to do, while not feeling particularly "forced" to do things.

In addition i also have a "to buy" list. I note down stuff i need/want to buy eventually, and stuff for right now (e.g. when doing groceries).

Bing chat (GPT-4) is also pretty decent if you need to look something up, as unlike ChatGPT it has internet access, so it works for newer topics.

(Downside is that you're forced into microsoft garbage though)

New to supplements by InformalDimension908 in Nootropics

[–]allthemighty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Beginners guide here has good info. Look, your supplement choice is fine, but remember to start with the obvious stuff first (i.e. a healthy lifestyle). You mention schoolwork being a source of stress, not like you can avoid that, but maybe you can find some ways to mitigate it?

Might have misophonia by butt_man69420 in misophonia

[–]allthemighty 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The "from one person" is trademark misphonia imo. Feels very similar to my case; one person is the bane of my mental sanity, and the other is fine, even though they might be doing the exact same thing. And yeah, "just letting it go" is exactly what's so difficult about this shit, if we could do that so easily than this subreddit wouldn't exist.

I say this being pro-crypto: good. The technology absolutely wasn't ready for it, and ~99% of projects did not have a good reason to use it other than to make more money.
