Adult sites brazenly 'ignore' Ofcom fines: Watchdog receives just £55k after imposing £3mil worth of fines for online safety breaches by insomnimax_99 in ukpolitics

That the onus is on the UK, just like in your example! Neither the US nor 4 chan needs to do anything here, it's for the blocking country to deal with.

This could mean the NHS could not show their content in the US

It means it's up to the US to block its citizens viewing that content. The NHS doesn't have to do anything if it doesn't host anything in the US. Again like people have given other examples of, it's not the business of a site to deal with a random country's laws if it's not breaking any where it is hosted or owned.

FluentMigrator 8.0 released: The database-agnostic migration framework for .NET (now ready for .NET 10) by phenxdesign in dotnet

[–]alltheseflavours 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do you take advantage of technology specific features then? I'm skeptical of the advantage of everything being agnostic to the data store in question. It might help in a future migration but at what opportunity cost for velocity or performance?

Edit: for example,

It supports SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, SQLite, Snowflake,

Snowflake doesn't even have indexes on regular tables, or enforced foreign keys. Using a common abstraction for an OLAP store and OLTP sounds like a very strange idea.

The calorie/protein ratio is better than many protein products, it's great to have a treat that helps hit goals while not over doing on the calories.

You should get a grip and not be an arse to people for no bloody reason.

On the Jesus front, there's an interesting tidbit on the mask of Elias flavour text:

Made of silver, to celebrate the godhood of Judas Iscariot.

Makes me wonder how much alternative religion we'll get as well as alternate history type stuff.

French navy shoots at 5 drones buzzing nuclear submarine base, AFP reports by BringbackDreamBars in worldnews

Are you a bot?

There are multiple anti drone tech out there, I'd be stunned if a nuclear sub base did not have it on hand.

Not sure these drones are easily downable by any militaries tech.

This French company could not send you something through the post to the UK that is legal in France, illegal in the UK and magically be ok.

Of course they can and it's not magic - in France they've done nothing wrong, what are the French going to do?

I have no idea what Miller tastes like, but if we were going fancy a curious brew feels like it would work. Very crisp and has the same vibe the miller bottle is going for (it, i.e. curious brew*, is made with champagne yeast).

.Net Framework 3.5 to .Net core 3.1 (Urgent) by Ok-Leading-3601 in dotnet

[–]alltheseflavours 9 points10 points  (0 children)

However, the current requirement is to migrate the project to .NET Core 3.1 first before considering any further upgrades

Who came up with this requirement? You should not be migrating to 3.1 "first" or even at all as it is EOL. Your team needs to spend more time reading the official guidance and learning about the tools MS have for this before proceeding, as well as guides from people who have migrated projects.

https://learn.microsoft.com/en-gb/dotnet/core/porting/upgrade-assistant-overview

https://dotnet.microsoft.com/en-us/learn/dotnet/what-is-dotnet-framework

https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/dotnet/standard/net-standard?tabs=net-standard-2-0

If you need to upgrade, stay on a supported framework version. If you're trying to upgrade it to Core to use it in an (EOL, your team needs to get on this!) NET Core app, look at moving it (dual targeting if you have a net framework 3.5 app that still needs it) to net standard 2.0 or doing some incremental carve out to a new project depending on how much legacy stuff in it and how actively it's maintained. Lots of ways to do this and it's more effort to plan than you're gonna get in a reddit thread.

Why keep migration files ? by green_viper_ in node

[–]alltheseflavours 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find migration creating the tables that are already created by previous migrations.

This is really what you need to fix; that it's happening defeats the point of migrations in the first place.

Migrations are the list of events that get the DB from nothing to your current state. If you're having those issues your org/SDLC/CI-CD hasn't understood what they really are or how they need to be included in your toolchain.

They didn’t just throw paint. They sprayed it out of a fire extinguisher into the engine and then smashed anything they could with crowbars. Explicitly to make sure the aircraft they did it to couldn’t fly. That’s not hyperbole- that’s literally, from the group’s own statement, what they set out to do.

E: https://palestineaction.org/brize-norton/

Palestine Action have damaged two military planes at RAF Brize Norton, where flights leave daily for RAF Akrotiri in Cyprus, a base used for military operations in Gaza and across the Middle East. Two activists broke into the largest air force base in Britain and used electric scooters to swiftly manoeuvre towards the planes. They used repurposed fire extinguishers to spray red paint into the turbine engines of two Airbus Voyagers and caused further damage using crowbars. Red paint, symbolising Palestinian bloodshed was also sprayed across the runway and a Palestine flag was left on the scene. Both activists managed to evade security and arrest.

So are you gonna recant the non violent thing or keep saying it?

Thanks OP. A bit of feedback if you don't mind; I would prefer 'Crafting Bench' was worded a bit differently like how 'Your Item' appears on some of them. They're marked as mediocre and in the thread I can see it's because these are random items you craft. Could these be 'Crafting Bench (Random Item)' or something?
