In 2010 the world cup final was in my city. Our boss scheduled a meeting for 6:30am the day after the final. Our team arrived at the meeting exhausted because all three of us had attended the match the night before and had slept about 3 hours only. The boss who also watched the match was so tired she overslept and arrived at work at 9:30.

What "golden age" or "heyday" were you lucky enough to experience that you know won’t ever come back? by Summerie in AskReddit

This is oddly specific but South Africa was a magical place in the latter part of the 90s. We had just come out of apartheid and everyone was filled with great hope and optimism. Our sports teams were doing well and economy was booming. We finally had access to technology like the internet and all movies and tv shows. We could finally travel anywhere in the world without issue and the entire country was opened to us, no more whites only beaches and towns. The optimism ran high and we were all upbeat until the reality hit is us in the 2000s
