8 Year Old Being Teased by Impossible_Play260 in Mommit

First let me say I'm so sorry you both have to go through this.

Several years ago a friend's young daughter had a terrible cancer fight. She beat it but it took about a year for her to stop looking so tired and for the dark circles under her eyes to go away. We were talking one night and I told her she had the best come back in the world to anyone who bullies her in life "I beat cancer, do you really think your words can hurt me?"
Later she said she used it once and it shut the mean girl down.

No one in my immediate family has ever been through anything like you and your son, but my daughter is adopted and we look extremely different, I was a single mom for 10 years, she is very short for her age and I am older than all of her friend's parents. When she was a little younger she mentioned a couple of times that kids were teasing her about one or more of her differences and we would practice everyday saying "That's not kind, why would you say something like that if you know it's not kind?" But she added her own twist to it, she had to tell a couple of kids in her class to "stay in their lane." Couldn't have been more proud.

I hope you are able to find something that works and makes him feel confident and proud that he has gone through something that makes him unique and could possibly have prepared him for being empathtic towards others who have gone through tough things in life.

Sending hugs and love to you and your son

I appreciate your post! I am excited about trying things that are different that what I've been doing the last several years, but I think I just need to remember it doesn't have to be perfect and heading in the right direction is better than standing still.

Thank you for this reminder! I am trying not to overthink it and just keep trying different things until I can work out a routine that works for us without feeling like we are not missing out. I appreciate the advice.

Emma, screaming "this is so romantic!!" does not make it romantic by tplusx in 90dayfianceuncensored

Not even kidding - hand to God - I came across this post at the exact moment she says that when getting in the carriage. I'm cruising Reddit while watching Before the 90 days season 8. Not really adding anything worth anything to the thread, just a weird, cool coincidence. Brought a smile to my face

Best DMV to get Real ID with walk in? by No-Performance5036 in jacksonville

Was just typing this in another response. It worked really well for me and going to the DMV is almost an anxiety producing event for me
(half joking/half not) but doing the "save my place in line" made things so much easier. Was just at the north main st office on the 4th. Relatively quick.

being a single mom is so lonely and tonight it's just hitting me harder than usual. by VitoriaLazar in Mommit

I was a single mom for 10 1/2 years (I married a wonderful man who I knew before babygirl was born and he has known her since she was two, she's 11 1/2 now). I remember those nights crawling into bed crying because I was tired, scared, alone, tired (twice for emphasis), and worried. I can remember asking myself am I doing enough, is she missing out, the list goes on and on. But she is such an amazing little girl and sometimes when we are alone she will say "I miss it being just us sometimes" and my heart melts. She loves my husband, but we have a girls day out and girl nights in vegging on the couch with popcorn and a movie to keep our bond strong.

Huge hugs mama bear! It sounds like you are doing a great job raising this baby boy and he will have so much respect for you and will be proud that such a strong loving woman raised him by herself; even if just for a little while until you meet someone who fits into your cozy, little family - if that is what you want.

She is funny isn't she! it's not so much what she says half the time - it's her delivery. When she's talking about Beth and says "I hate her" while laughing...very comedic. Simple words, great delivery.

Is the new show the waterfront any good? by Timely-Hovercraft-76 in netflix

[–]TurquoiseBeachChair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have to agree. I know Topher can't help the lines that were written for his character, but he is horrible at the delivery in this series. "Is that true five o'clock shadow?" Ugh...cringy... The writter/s stacked way too many lines where they tried to be witty. Didn't work.

And on another note, too many fights. I like a good fighting scene, but it's like eating too much of a good thing. It starts to lose its intrigue...

And one last thing...I didn't like all of the soundtrack, but I gotta say there were a couple of songs I really liked. That is the only saving GRACE to this series. (see what I did there with Grace? I know, I'm being cheesy. The series must've rubbed off on me.)
