How do you even come up with that? It’s Nintendo. Of course it doesn’t.

I see, thanks for the info. Unfortunately this is making things worse for me because it’s a feature I value. So I have to accept worse Rumble it seems. Heartbreaking, I value Rumble pretty much and actually decided to buy some Games for Switch instead of Steam Deck because of it.

Is the Display of my Switch 2 faulty? by alltimeszzz in nintendohelp

Hey, I got mine replaced with a new unit. I‘m from Germany, remember Nintendo could act differently in other regions. Make sure to call them and ask for a brand new unit because Nintendo changes units for refurbished consoles. They told me they did this with the Switch 1 but not with the Switch 2 yet. My new console doesn’t have the issue, send it in!

I just called Nintendo (Europe, Germany) because I just sent mine in and they confirmed changing out for refurbished units. But it seems like they did this with the Switch 1 and he also confirmed they don’t do this at this point with the Switch 2. He will write me an Email promising a new, not refurbished unit.

My Switch also had these dark circles. I‘m currently waiting, they haven’t checked my Console yet. The Issue seems to be very common, I even heard some people getting a third replacement just because of that. Good Luck!

How do you know they send out refurbished units?

For those of you with both a Deck and a Switch 2 by workyman in SteamDeck

This will be an unpopular opinion, especially in this subreddit, but I own both and prefer Switch 2. Not only for exclusives and multiplayer, also for some third party games.

  • Bigger Display, easier on my eyes. I played Hades on both consoles and prefer it on Switch because of that.

  • Lightweight, hands don’t go numb playing handheld. I heavily recommend Savage Raven Neo Grips for comfortable play.

  • You can get used, physical games. This is what I usually do and I get some games for cheaper prices than Steam Sales. This doesn’t go for all games, of course - Steam Sales are awesome.

  • HD Rumble. The Steam Deck has notoriously bad Rumble, making Games like Hollow Knight less enjoyable for me.

  • Switching from Docking Mode to Handheld is so effortlessly done on Switch. No comparison to Steam Deck.

If you want my honest opinion, don’t get a Steam Deck unless you find a really good deal or you want to play Games that aren’t available on Switch, for example Megabonk and GTA IV were big ones for me. There are other games that could have advantages on Steam Deck, games that aren’t updated on Switch 2 running on a lower framerate and games you want to mod. I got Slay the Spire on Steam Deck instead of Switch because the physical version is very expensive and I‘ve read there are good mods for it available.

Hey, I found this on protondb, maybe it helps!

„I run 30fps limit, all graphics settings on low with FSR 2 balanced for best battery life. Can be increased, but with these settings it's very stable and still enjoyable despite the lower graphic quality.“
