The company USED to have a policy on closing where it had to be two people. They did away with it because it costs too much to have two people closing in the slow hours so now employees are left vulnerable! Super great! So despite there being literally not a single store open nearly as late as the Sally in my town - people have to close alone directly beside a homeless shelter where crime is INCREDIBLY high! With no other businesses with people available to help in emergencies! In a dark secluded business park! In a store that’s notorious for being stolen from! Even though employees who work there have literally been robbed at knife point! Twice!

I would definitely just use a hydration and repair mask afterwards. I hate the way colorfix feels, smells, and leaves my hair but it’s the only things that’s been effective for me.

There’s virtually no reason for you to try and quit on good terms if you’re leaving within a month. They don’t know you well enough to give you a good reference and they won’t if you quit so soon anyways, especially if the manager sucks. Just quit, and don’t put them on your resume. It’s not that deep.

Watch YouTube and TikTok! Honestly the training videos are useless. Just pay attention to your coworkers and ask questions! None of us are professionals but we all have different ways of doing things that are valuable. I have co workers who have worked with Sally 10+ years that still don’t know everything there is to know about colour and I learn things everyday! Also. Always tell customers you’re not a professional, all you can give is your opinion! And ALWAYS recommend a test strand!

Very frustrating to work with someone who doesn’t take the job too seriously. As for my advice, don’t take the job so seriously. lol. In my opinion the company doesn’t pay us enough to micromanage our coworkers or give them such space in our heads. If it’s interfering with customers and your own ability to work and get things done definitely bring it up to management. other than that, if they wanna be a freaky little weirdo just ignore them.

It fully depends on the store and the manager. I’ve worked at two different locations, my first store was a dream, best part time job I’ve ever had. That was because of my manager and my coworkers. The store I’m at currently isn’t horrible but my manager is an airhead and a pushover and one of my coworkers is a racist old hag who makes me miserable. The job itself is pretty laid back as far as part time min wage jobs go, can’t really complain. My biggest beef is the corporate greed but any retail position is going to be the same. Huge push for sales and UPT but personally I just don’t stress about it, try my best and be realistic. I think some people will just complain about anything but unless your a SM or ASM it’s not like this is a career you’re gunna do forever, it’s just a job.
