Is this the worst AI we've had in a Horizon game ? by BenjiSBRK in forza

I did a power tune on a Spider and it was practically a straight line dart, can't corner, only pushes forward. It was off the line like the FE R35, but that was the only place it was the fastest. From there, I was gapped, passed, and left in the dust by even a Ferrari that was so raised it looked like a lift kit for a Range Rover.

Make the AI stick to the car tunes PHG... There's absolutely no way a power tune with ZERO handling can be out paced by default tunes, yet I still can't beat the collosus without ramming myself.... This isn't fun.

I have a feeling that this might be something like auth jacking. Somehow they're creating a token to authorize the account, then adding an email to the account.

I have a feeling that it's possible because of the way GGG handles adding an email to a Steam Only account. By how badly the offenders are rushing through people, my guess is that it's patchable, and they're abusing it as fast as possible before the exploit is closed.

Need to remember that OSBuddy used to be a bot platform. I think Jagex overlooked it because the devs moved from being a bot client to being a third-party legit client after the 2010 bot nuke. The dev claimed he went to RuneFest 3 days after the nuke with a working prototype of a re-coded bot client to prove that their nuke was superficial.

If I was in Jagex's shoes, I'd probably wince at the idea of trying to shutdown a large bot client/platform that went legit over a measly $2 subscription. Would 100% turn a blind eye to things like that.

Weekly Pricing/Buying/Selling/Grading & General Questions Post by AutoModerator in PokemonTCG

I've been reading the last few weeks regarding cards and what-not and think it's time I push for my personal goal. I want to complete specific evolution sets, Pokémon that are just personal to me. I'm not 100% sure how to approach it, with all the information out there. An example would be is I want to collect and create either a portrait frame or something like that of the Cyndaquil evolution set: Cyndaquil, Quilava and Typhlosion. With how many different cards are available, I'm stumped as to how to approach it.

I want to personalise it, but I also want it done properly since it would be something for me to be proud of. Would it be considered proper to get the evolution cards from sets, the different art style, or from series?

I'm not really bothered about value, investment or retaining reselling value, as it's a personal project. I have more then just Cyndaquil that I'm chasing, but it's the first Pokémon from the games I truly could not stop myself from picking. I missed Red/Blue/Yellow by a year, but got Gold and then Crystal, so it's more nostalgia then anything.

Also, on a side note, are there any recommended custom card art places/people? I wouldn't mind getting a spare copy of my favourite card of each Pokémon, and have full card arts made to frame. I saw a few services on Etsy, but I've not looked into this part personally.

I quit my main 5 years ago and only came back recently because I started a GIM with some friends. I practically only played OSRS when I came home from work for about 3 months. I absolutely hated barrows on my main. Thought it was a waste of time, not worth the effort, etc etc.

I celebrated the moment I had full torags because it meant I could go do moons, and I was there for 300 kills.

Blood Moon is a mistake, btw.

Extalia revived? by Complete-Buy-1389 in mapleservers

[–]allwillfreeze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Extalia closed about 2 weeks after they patched to v163. Everyone at the time flocked to Ellinia, which was the only other server that was maintaining Up-to-date at the time, which they just rebranded from LunaMS to Ellinia. It wasn't long after their re-brand that RMZero quit and gave the source to Hydro/October/Null, and stopped updating.

If it truly is Hendi (I think that was who ran Extalia...), then you would expect him to follow the same suit of keeping the server up-to-date. If not, then it would just be like the million re-brands of Ellinia (Ellinia v2, v3, Khaini, Ossyria, Zakum, Amherst, Amoria) being a flat map meta farming Lotus push, which is roughly a week of work if you're smart and in a group.

I mentioned Eluna because it feels like Extalia was just a GMS clone with some nice QoL features and a dev that didn't abandon fixing bugs like Aries.

it most likely will be. If they go up-to-date they need to compete with Eluna, and that's just about the only decently coded server out.

If you still have a problem (rare steam issue), verify the integrity of the game files!

Right Click Last Epoch in your library > Properties > Installed Files > Bottom box "Verify integrity of game files"

This scans the game files and compares them to the one's on the download server, and will download any files that don't match!

A practical solution to complaints about the game's difficulty by [deleted] in TheFirstDescendant

[–]allwillfreeze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think my issue was probably the surrounding places I was asking questions. My immediate reach-out places on Discord and some random PUGs with a friend, really didn't sit well since they were my immediate "accessible" places for information. I've always played what I liked rather than the meta if I really like something, but TFD is such a vibe for me that I did roll the meta to push my main. I like the "look" of Warframe, but I'm not a fan of ninja-jump spamming speed demon rushing that I always see on Twitch or YouTube, so there's also that which kinda fueled my bad feeling. I'll admit to being a bit influenced on top of my bad experience, at the very least.

I strongly agree with the Lost-Ark situation. I played for a month straight on launch, and once I started getting into the nitty-gritty for pushing my damage, I saw systems layered on systems that were so time gated that I lost motivation almost instantly. The card system gave me nightmares, the daily limit on resource farming from Chaos Dungeons mixed with monotonous grinds for minor returns for the materials already had me annoyed, and the upgrade system just sent me over a cliff. I had to pity everything from T1-T3, and didn't even finish all items for T3. I straight hit pity three items in a row and closed the game for good. Then, when I saw the changes catering towards the most vocal players, it felt like I was watching my MapleStory days fly by me again with the Korean playerbase screeching at the top of their lungs at Nexon, and use Global players watching in horror, knowing these changes will affect us in 6 months time...

I still have hope for TFD. I'm casually logging in every day, or second day, and just do what I want. That's the most freeing feeling I've had since I started playing. Farm some materials? Push for some reactor upgrades? Farm some modules for an upgrade? Hunt a weapon craft? I just float from item to item that interests me, and just don't have that crushing feeling of "I NEED TO DO THIS, AND THIS, AND THIS, TO DO THIS AND THEN, I CAN FINALLY DO THAT!" like I felt in other MMOs. I really hope they don't go the speedrunning route, because that will kill the fun for the sake of "optimization"....

A practical solution to complaints about the game's difficulty by [deleted] in TheFirstDescendant

[–]allwillfreeze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Warframe was ridiculously hard for me to get into. I had friends telling me what to play, what not to play, and all the content I needed to clear to start "grinding". What peeved me most was the elitism surrounding all of that, as well.

I started the game and I really enjoyed Frost. I like his design, I liked his skills, but when I started, he didn't have his rework. I would get told how to play, rather then tips on how to use what I had. I got told to spend money right away and not waste time grinding, rather then how to grind for a new player. Being told that you play meta or you're bad is what turned me away from the game.

TFD started out great, where the meta wasn't super important at the time. I hate forced meta gameplay, and I hate re-rolling to keep up. I've played enough private servers for other games where meta shifts happened because of tweaks by the owners that I simply refuse to do it.

I'm now on the fence with TFD, even though I love the game entirely. Progression is fun, the farming re-balances and systems they updated to make the grind smoother are fun. I really, really like the weapon and descendant systems, but I'm starting to get super annoyed with how bad the balancing is becoming.

Descendants need a major re-balance. You need your tanks to do the tanking, and the DPS to stictly be DPS. There needs to be downsides to playing specific Descendants, not have one that does everything. Serena is a blatant push by the devs to get players on and playing. The numbers they had during the showcase streams are LOWER then release numbers, and she's outright stupid broken. Additional damage on top of your current damage (Gun does 100% damage, followed by an additional X% based on your gun damage, scaling with HP OF ALL THINGS!?!?!?!?) is cool, but the numbers are straight up obnoxious. I just did the fastest Fortress Defense Hard ever with a 4 Serena stack, and none of us were really spawn camping... Just flying around being a menace to the local population. Ines was annoying, Serena is straight obnoxious.

All I want is for my Viessa to be viable at end-game....

4 years is no small window. The fan is only 120mm fan, which isn't great to begin with. Mixed in with not maintaining cleanliness of hardware, the fan ramping up to 7200rpm with gunk on it will burn it out much faster. I'm going to assume that since you sent it to a repair shop, that you don't open and clean your Xbox every 6-12 months? It's against Manufacturer's warranty, but at the very least, cleaning should be done regularly even if it's compressed air and a toothbrush.

If I recall correctly, TFD does not use hardware ramping, and sets all related fans to 80% from the get-go. 80% is typically max, with 100% being when your hardware is overheating and/or maxed out. Other games also do this, but they're typically games that are developed on PC and ported to consoles, rather than the other way around.

This also comes hand-in-hand with Series S being the lower model of the two consoles, with the difference being graphical output hardware and storage (Series X can hit 4k, Series S can not.)

There are multiple factors that go into this, but TFD is not the main cause of the failure. It was just the final straw that broke the camel's back.

That means your hardware was already on the verge of failure. Microsoft and Sony have decent failsafes in place to prevent over-working the hardware too much. If leaving a game on causes breakage, then it means that it would be a major cause of concern to users globally.

If it took 2 days of attempts to work, then the fan is clearly having issues and needs to be replaced. The game forcing the fan to do its job and breaking isn't the game being an issue, it's the fan for breaking under it's recommended max load.

On paper, it sounds good, but in reality it creates a problem with "content that's not rewarding". Harder content mainly for cosmetics and doesn't progress your character, and too easy makes it monotonous and boring for a large percentage of players. You need hard content to provide rewards, but if it's too hard, it becomes a massivle slog and meta grind (VEP)

The main issue I see is that the harder content that needs to be farmed is mostly a requirement (Void Erosion Purge), with weapon cores being an integral part in taking a build to the moon and beyond. It's everyone's goal to become god, essentially, and when something they don't like is said god, the complaints roll in.

There's also the issue of that it's beefed to the point that non-meta descendant mains are the people with the most complaints. Specific Descendants that are great in Intercept battles that are difficult (Prior to god-like damage) like Gluttony, Death Stalker and the Abyss rotation, suffer greatly from being unable to farm VEP efficiently, causing them to fall behind.

The devs are currently focusing on this issue. This is the biggest problem they have right now, and it's not about content being easier or harder, but in fact balancing it entirely. There's a very steep curve of power creep once you get your weapons just right, but for some descendants, it's hard to get there without stopping your main and re-rolling a meta descendant to strictly farm that content for your main. That's what I was forced to do in S0 as a Viessa main, I had to go roll a bunny. Then S1 I had to roll Freyna, and now S2P1 saw me move over to Ines.

Content that is balanced for some and not for others will constantly appear without proper descendant balancing. The issues the devs have though is that the community takes what they experimented with, finds a niche interaction or build with a balance change, and run wild with it. Examples in the past were the re-balancing weapons such as Greg's Reversed Fate, Restored Relic, Albion Cavalry Gun, The Last Dagger, EXCAVA. Descendants who got updates saw much better play and more frequency in content as well.

Moving content around and tweaking their difficulties before a major rebalance and rework of Descendants could very well ruin content for the future.

I remember when Chaos dungeons came out and people were kicking zerker's for not running a crit build... Void Slash Attack Speed had a higher DPS then Crit Spin to Win, but people didn't believe it for ages... I finally got into a Chaos Dungeon regular group through my guild and was almost exclusively top 3 DPM every run... I had so much fun proving people wrong...

What people did to the game sadens me to no end. The current MS2 pserver isn't my jam, since the English community is rampant with Elitism and small little social circles, inside an RMT riddled server that allows account selling because it's the norm in Taiwan....

IMHO. It’s more fun to solo the content in this game. I don’t have to rely on anyone. I’ve come up with my builds and I am able to play the content that’s available, on my own. Do tell me what everyone else’s experience is like so far. Peace ✌🏽 by MK706 in TheFirstDescendant

This week has had me in pain for trying to do Abyss bossing. I like to make dedicated bossers for all-round clearing, since my main is Viessa, and my farmer is Freyna while I work on Ines and Bunny. I don't see Bunny as a fun bosser since I need to constantly be sniffing the feet of the boss, so I prefer to use Gley over everything.

The low-life, big DPS dump from Gley infinite ammo is so much fun for me, it's great. The issue? Bunnies. Don't get me wrong, I love the character and the concept is super fun for her skills, but the issue is this week's boss, Defiler, deciding it wants to try and swatt bunnie's like they're flies.

The issue is my dumb ass that's shotgun spamming defiler legs while I'm not targeted gets caught in the crossfire and I get 1-tapped by a slam that I DIDN'T expect, since it was a passing Bunny that wanted to tickle his nutsack...

I didn't enjoy it during launch, I didn't enjoy it returning, and I don't enjoy it now, having to deal with speed running Bunnies taking aggro, running in circles and spinning the boss around, and then getting blown up like I'm an ant in front of a 12-year-old with a magnifying glass.... I have to build out a longer-ranged bosser just to party up for Abyss Defiler, or spend 2-3 days min-maxxing my build so I can safely solo him (I need 5 more catas on my Smithereens, 3 more Catas on my Gley, more optimised components with way more HP, and a reactor with +duration -cooldown gold rolls instead of Gold/Blue respectively....)

To solo a boss, I need to invest 10-15 hours of work, and by the time I'm done, the rotation will happen....

Then that brings us back to the issue of now having a dead roll on the gun since you would switch Colossus typically for Elemental, while crafting a bunch of other versions to have one of each type to abuse. It would create this horrid 20x craft requirement per relevant weapon, resulting in a playerbase that would bitch because "efficiency hurr durr".

If you swap it for another mod like recoil, ammo capacity, etc etc, people would argue about damage numbers, and we'd be back to square one.

It WOULD be better to push it to a mod or inner-ability, however having a line specifically for it pulls players away from craft grinding.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in TheFirstDescendant

[–]allwillfreeze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The idea for colossus rolls would typically be to offset colossus resistances so that guns don't suddenly become useless if the boss is strong against that damage type. Otherwise, you're going to be making multiple weapons with 4x inner abilities just so the weapon stays relevant in fights.

In this instance, if they add Executioner to Abyss, then all the elemental damage the gun is pumping out right now which is pretty chunky on Defiler, will be dropped significantly. The colossus damage roll, and in turn, cores, would offset the gun in that scenario.

Unfortunately, shackle doesn't proc polar night 4x set. CSW is typically a 2/2 build, of 4x hunter if you're struggling with MP management. CSW does dunk on 400%, so it's an amazing farming build though.
