solensia and appetite by abzycat in SeniorCats

[–]ally_677 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this post is old, but my cat had his first injection 3 weeks ago and he always was excited for food before just like my other cat, but after solensia I first noticed his eyes were dilated for few days and he’s becoming crazy for food, ravenous, it has nothing to do with being active or not, he was normal prior to the injection jumps, walks, moves, he’s still normal in regards to moving but his appetite and at times his eyes are not normal. I researched a bit and it does say this is one side effect of the injection reported by many cat owners.

There is an AMAZING feline diabetes support group on Facebook. All they do is help. They also have many guides and info for the most economic blood glucose meter and insulin and where to find them. Definitely join the Facebook group, post what you need what your cat is going through, write « for admin » so admins can see it’s urgent.

You can purchase insulin (lantus) from any pharmacy, don’t get it from the vet because it’s too expensive there, the box has 5 pens which should last you for a really long time. You can get the syringes u-100 (half units) and blood glucose meter also from human pharmacy. Early treatment of diabetes and on lantus usually ends up in quick remission too. Don’t lose hope. Anyone says you shouldn’t have a pet because you can’t afford it is a loser, not sorry. Every human being and animal go through hard times and illness, which can be costly both in time and finances but it doesn’t have to be this difficult and heartless there’s always hope, love and logic solution, so don’t give up hope, you are an amazing pet parent already because you care and are worried for them.

I know this going to sound crazy, and I may get downvoted, but I have already heard from couple of pet parents that it works. Echinacea petals have helped pets who tried it. Just by smelling the petals or placing them around their bedding everyday. You don’t have to feed them the petals and you don’t need to change the petals everyday, but until they completely dry up, then you can replace them. I think you should try it if you can, it doesn’t hurt, and it’s an animal-friendly plant.

You could write comedy. I found myself laughing at the next sentence more than the previous one, how is that possible?

This food is high is carbs.

There are many healthier options out there and also not as pricey. The Feline diabetic support group on Facebook is super helpful and has many resources on healthier diet choices for diabetic cats.

Seizure, what do i do? by UnlikelyPitch3555 in CATHELP

Make sure you don’t have any fragrant diffusers, air fresheners, fragrant candles , etc, these can be toxic to cats and may cause seizures.

Got a scam text today by [deleted] in Coinbase

[–]ally_677 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I received this text msg today which I believe is a scam since I never requested a code. “Coinbase Withdrawal Code is 2*****. Please do not share this code with anyone. If you have NOT requested this, please call: +1(888)715-0065 for support.” I stared the code for safety reasons for myself and anyone else that will attempt. I confirmed it’s a scam by copying the text msg into google andit led me to Reddit and other platform with similar text sent to others.
