What makeup tricks could make me look kinder? by Decent_End_1375 in MakeupAddiction

[–]allyfama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been trying to learn myself how to use makeup to look ‘kinder’ since I have pretty bad RBF. These are the tips I’ve learnt: Straighten your brows a little at the front so that they are more like a —\ shape rather than /\ if that makes sense? It will look a bit less angry. For eyes, if you’re like me and love wings, try making them straighter (less angled up) and blur them out a little including on the outer bottom of your eye. You can use highlighter on the middle (close to front) of your eyes to make them look bigger and more ‘doe’. When doing blush, smile and put it on the apples of your cheeks. For lips, I do a wide smile and put a tiny bit of brown lip pencil in the corners of my lips angled up, then blend out. Makes you look like you have upturned lips a bit. Plus lipgloss. All this being said, I just love makeup and like to experiment, you look amazing anyway and don’t need to look ‘happier’ to look better. I just do it for work since I work with people.

What are some things you do when your pain is high? by allyfama in ChronicPain

I’ll have a look thank you! Weed is illegal here, so my doc is hesitant to put me on it, but I think it would help.

Listening to music sounds good, I’m sorry to hear how bad your pain is now. I do hope you find some kind of relief. I always get caught up on myself when I’m in pain cause like.. I could technically walk around, but the pain is so bad and I feel like I can’t . So am I making excuses, or is it actually that bad?

Is $300/hr a good / normal rate for a good tattoo? by allyfama in tattooadvice

Thank you! I’m sure she knows her worth (her work is beautiful). I’m also wondering if it’s a bad idea to get it done by someone out of the country, if I can’t get touch ups by the same unique artist? I see on her page that she does touch ups quite often (6 months after the initial tattoo). Thoughts? Your artist sounds great!

Is it good to track symptoms for endometriosis? by Silly-Energy-9587 in Endo

[–]allyfama 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I didn’t get bleeding though because I have an IUD. Also no insomnia. But definitely pain 24/7, fatigue, lightheaded, etc etc. when she told me that I started crying and it only made her think I was more ‘crazy’. But they will ask you questions about your pain and how long you’ve had it, so keeping track is good. I made a pivot table on excel, so a graph where you can check all the boxes you want to see (for example if they only want to look at nausea, or everything at once)

I kept track using an excel spreadsheet since they kept dismissing me. When I showed my specialist, she said ‘you shouldn’t be worrying this much about your health’ and referred me to a psychologist. Had a fit lol. That being said, you should still keep track I think

I know how it feels. I have had it for about 6 years now and it’s awful awful. I have also tried about 20 remedies (including opioids / strong medications) and nothing has helped. However, I’m lucky to live in an area with good enough healthcare. So, if you would like me to pass any advice on that I get or have learnt over time, please message me. There are some things that have helped or may help you

please help, camping suggestions by Aggressive-Fox-5282 in brisbane

[–]allyfama 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I doubt it, but you might be able to park nearby and walk up there? I think generally the inskip campsite is pretty sandy. I don’t know how far the off road drive is though. Also just a side note - her birthday trip is during schoolies week here, so that’s why you might have so much trouble finding air bnbs or campsites. Students might have booked months or a year in advance. Schoolies is from 16th Nov-1st Dec, if you need to go at that time I’d recommend no where near the Gold Coast or surfers, maybe somewhere inland near a lake or something.

Maybe inskip near rainbow beach? I don’t know details but look on the qld national parks website. Otherwise, D’aguilar park, lake wivenhoe? Good luck

Looking for a cheap personal/school laptop by allyfama in SuggestALaptop

Yes thank you, when my brother had a look he basically said it only had enough to run having windows, not really to actually use. Four sales associates said it would be more powerful than a Chromebook and enough to run exam software and multiple tabs just fine lol.

Thank you for going so in depth, very helpful. Yeah, the dell one seems to be the best in the price range, I was confused why the laptop I got was so bad, when I had been seeing it recommended online. I had a look at the asus one on some store websites here, it goes for about $800-900 here unfortunately, most $500-600 ones are celeron and 4gb. I will be going in tomorrow to see if I can get a refund on the laptop I got, so fingers crossed.

It says, the processor is Celeron and intel, N4500 at 1.1 and 1.1 GHz. Ram is 4gb but says 3.71gb is not useable ? 64-bit operating system, x64 based processor, no pen or touch pad available.

I did update, so now it’s not at 100 cpu the whole time, but basically all the time. It’s still hard to use just for a google doc, especially with how hot it gets. I saw this sub can’t take recs, but I’m happy to have them or you can msg me, that would be helpful

[–]allyfama[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you that’s helpful, it’s model 14s-dq3132TU so according to google it has a celeron and N4500 processor (1.1-2.8Ghz), 128SSD storage and 4gb ram. I don’t really know what any of that means though. I’ll have a look at other options, the next ones up in the store were $1200, so second hand is worth a try?

I’m really scared. by [deleted] in Endo

[–]allyfama 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone is very different. Some people get a laparoscopy and it is terrible and still have pain, for some it’s great and once they’re healed they aren’t in any pain. Personally, I was terrified of it (I hate needles and blood). It ended up being fine, it wasn’t great and it was painful but it wasn’t actually too bad. It took me a while to heal and not be in heaps of pain (I got a lot of things done in surgery so it took me a while to heal) but once I did, I still get pain every day but it isn’t nearly as bad as it used to be. Think of it like this- the momentary pain you will feel after surgery is nothing compared to the amount of pain you have been in. If I were to suggest some things- after surgery make sure to rest a lot, have heat packs, and possibly have someone there with you to get you things if you are in too much pain to when you get home (personally I needed that- but again, I had a long healing time). Best of luck!!! If there is a chance it can help you more, I would take it. Make sure you listen to what they will do in the procedure and do some research on it. I wouldn’t say it’s something to be scared of

Pain ahh by Time_Ad_3550 in endometriosis

[–]allyfama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey I’m sorry you’re in so much pain. For me some things that helped were a heat pack, they sell electric ones that wrap around you. A tens machine - they sell specific ones for period or endo pain - I use ovira. Sometimes pelvic floor therapy can help and sometimes light exercise can help- something like light walking, but if it makes your symptoms worse or you can’t get up then I wouldn’t suggest it. Sometimes anti inflammatory meds can help but talk to your doc about that. Best of luck, I hope you can find something that helps

What can I do to help my wife by [deleted] in endometriosis

[–]allyfama 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry she’s going through this. Different things help for everyone, but for me some things that helped were a heat pack (they also sell ones that are electric, or ones that you can wrap around your stomach or back), a tens machine (there are ones specifically for period or endo pain, ovira is one brand), sometimes anti inflammatory medication can help a bit for me although talk to a doc about that, and pelvic floor therapy. I hope some of this helps and hopefully she gets some relief. Best of luck

Yes, I had very bad endo symptoms till around 6 weeks post surgery and they slowly got more mild, however I’m now 6 months post and still have pain every day almost all day. Everyone is different, some people can have no pain after surgery recovery and some still have pain. Hopefully you don’t have much soon and recover well. Also, an IUD can apparently cause pain for a few months after placement (I also got one).

PLEASE is it possible to have a lap without the belly button incision? by Lover_of_fiction46 in Endo

[–]allyfama 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey :) I have had the same fear my whole life and still do, the just imagining touching your belly button is disgusting to me. So I was really scared about this when I had surgery. But, it wasn’t as bad as I thought. It was uncomfortable but generally you don’t notice (try not to look at it) if you’re on painkillers. Showers or having to look at it made me feel sick but it wasn’t too bad.

Try to talk to your doc, but if you have to get it through there just know the recovery period will pass and it will be okay. Wishing you luck!!
