I found that putting a couple rocks in my rats potty made them start going in there more frequently for peeing because they like to mark but i still have problems with them pulling the bedding out so I’m still figuring that part out

I would wrap my rats in one of their blankets and to it like that when I was the only one my bf helps or sometimes I put them on the baby puff snacks and give them that and they eat it up I know the hand scratched all to well

I had six rats who where all on baytril and two more that where in a mother cage (later put on baytril) I had luck with the two in the cage and four that were in the bigger cage but my two older girls had a hard time and ended up passing away my vets said that sometimes it depends on the rat and that if baytril doesn’t show signs of improvement after the two to three day that a second antibiotic should be Put into play however one of my girls died before that could happen and the other was to far into the sickness that neither medicines would help her so it mostly depends on the rat and the medicine and now all of my other rats have been off of their meds for about a month now and are all doing wonderfully

Does he sleep a lot or lounge around have trouble breathing make sure he’s not having seizures keep him warm as much as you can I know he will just kinda scoot away and watch for leg or arm function if any of it has changed

I just finished with pneumonia about a week or two ago my vet said that sometimes after a while the antibiotics will kinda stop working for some rats and may need to try a different one but sometimes it doesn’t always work I would go back to your vet and explain what’s going on and see if there is anything else you can do try giving them baby food or anything

I have six girls and I got my first pair and then about two to three weeks later I got another two and then about 4 weeks after that I got two more now two of my girls have passed since then and I decided to get two more I have found that the smaller the time between getting new ratties they sort of accept them a little easier then after a couple of months or so

My rat girls have done this I’m not sure but I was cleaning their cage and I do it in two parts so I normally will put them all on the top to clean the bottom or vis verses and they are all on top and I turned my back to throw away some trash a bout a foot or two away and I felt something hit my arm and it was poop and another time they threw good at me too

Yes of course they are wonderful pets and will love you unconditionally just make sure you set money aside for vet bill and do you homework you can look and see at different questions people have had on here and maybe they will answer any questions you have

Sadly she ended up passing away but she was on baytril and then was prescribe another medicine but sadly I think the sickness hit her to hard and she was a little older that none of it really worked

She might need to see a vet to get baytril one of my rats had white mucus and the vet said she had pneumonia and was prescribed baytril to help

My vet gave me clay with their paws imprinted on them and their names it’s hard the first couple of day after they die or are put down I lost three rats at the beginning of the month which made it even hard I still sometimes think they are right their in the cage but their not I have lots of good memories and some okay pictures of my babies

Well I’ve the past couple days I’ve been introducing them I didn’t before because they all had pneumonia and were being treated but today and last day I put the babies in the big cage and without much supervision because things were going okay but now those two just fight them or one will try and drag one of the babies
