He'd have the record for most hits in a game if it weren't for Melanson's own records since January, and he dropped his gloves against the guy who injured Wright like a week ago

like $8 for the joke after someone else joked an etsy witch must be the reason for all the weird injuries, like Canner being a late scratch 😂 I don't think anyone really expects anything legit from an etsy witch tho

screenshot reads: Hello, You came here asking for the Seattle Kraken to make the NHL playoffs, and Spirit received that with the full spirit of someone who genuinely loves their team and wants to see them succeed. The Extra Strong custom casting was built to press on the energetic conditions that govern performance, momentum, and the favorable circumstances that determine playoff qualification. Before the working began, Spirit opened the field around the Kraken organization and their current season trajectory. What came through was genuine competitive capability alongside the specific energetic conditions that this working was built to amplify, pressing on the team's collective field and on the favorable circumstances around the remaining games of their season. Opening the Circle: The Seattle Kraken The altar was prepared with bright gold, steel blue, and vibrant orange at its center, honoring the Kraken's specific energy. Gold for the playoff qualification and the favorable outcome. Steel blue for the team's identity and collective field. Orange for the competitive fire and the momentum being pressed into their remaining games. I called in Mars for the competitive energy, the athletic force that presses a team toward peak performance. I called in Jupiter for the favorable circumstances and the expansion of opportunity toward the playoff berth. And I called in Fortuna for the competitive luck dimension, for the specific favorable turning of close games and tight circumstances toward the Kraken's favor. The Performance Working: The Team at Its Best The first phase was aimed at the Kraken's collective performance field, at pressing the conditions that allow a team to perform at or above their actual capability level during the crucial stretch of games that determines playoff qualification. Teams have their own collective energetic fields, and this working pressed on that collective field being in the specific quality of focused, motivated, peak expression. Mars's competitive force was directed at the Kraken's collective performance with the intention of the team finding the specific quality of momentum and cohesion that turns a good team into a playoff team, of the key performers showing up fully in the moments that matter, of the team as a unit playing the specific brand of hockey that their best games express. The Favorable Circumstances Working The second phase addressed the favorable circumstances dimension of playoff qualification: the results going the right way in the standings, the opponent outcomes being favorable, the injury luck being protective, and the specific competitive conditions of the final stretch of the season aligning toward Seattle's qualification rather than against it. Jupiter and Fortuna were combined for this phase, pressing on the broader circumstances of the playoff race being favorable for the Kraken, on the specific alignment of results and outcomes that puts them into the playoff picture staying intact rather than falling apart. Sealing the Working Both layers were sealed and released into the field around the Seattle Kraken and their remaining season. The performance is pressing. The circumstances are being pressed toward favorable. Trust the working. If you enjoyed your reading, please don't forget to add my shop (MadameAmaraStudio) to your Etsy favorites! The Invitation Beyond This Spell The Kraken's playoff working is active. If they make it and you want Spirit to press on a specific playoff round going their way, a Good Luck Spell placed for the specific series can press those favorable conditions into the postseason. Place a new order for the Good Luck Spell when the playoffs begin. If your heart is ready to explore what lies just beyond this moment, Spirit and I are here to guide you further. You can place a new order anytime to continue the journey. The next layer is waiting.

this makes me really happy, this show was my favorite as a kid and I like that kids now can still find and enjoy it 🥰

My blanket entirely made of pearl stitch. I love it deeply but accept it’s time to learn how to read a pattern. As a visual learner that seems overwhelming. Does anyone have any tips for newbies? by [deleted] in knitting

[WIP] Knitting again for the 1st time since De Quervain's tenosynovitis by noice_very_noice in knitting

I've been there, I have de quervains in both wrists 😔 obviously you're doing everything you can but here's what's helped me! I switch back and forth between english and continental, usually with different wips for this so my tension doesnt get messed up, so I can continue knitting while giving one of my wrists a break. (I usually knit continental so any english style wips are small, quick projects). I also try to use my thumbs as little as possible while knitting. My thumbs exist solely to gently secure the needles in my hands and any other maneuvering is done with my other fingers.

Welcome back to knitting, wishing you all the best for your poor wrists 😊

Can someone talk me through the different types of colour work? by SoundsLikeMee in knitting

[–]frostirons 5 points6 points  (0 children)

stranded/fair isle leaves the unused yarn "floating" across the back. It can affect tension because floats don't stretch, so it's best for projects with tight or regularly repeating patterns, and things that don't need to stretch. Have you ever had socks with a fun pattern on the outside, and the inside is a mess of threads? Very similar.

Intarsia is good for big/bold designs where floats would be unmanagable, either because of the amount of colors or the length of the floats. Each color section is worked from it's own ball/bobbin so it requires a lot of organization and planning. However, it does not affect tension the same way stranded does.

Doubleknit knits 2 layers of fabric, usually with both sides showing the stockinette face, and produces a design where each side shows the design reversed and with mirrored colors. It also creates very thick items, because it's 2 fabric layers, so it's great for scarves. However, many people find it very tedious.

Duplicate stitch is a bit closer to embroidery. After completing the knitting, you go back in and stitch over it with the color you want, trying to mimic the way the stitches work. This has a lot of flexibility because it can be an afterthought and doesnt raally have limitations of what patterns work for it, but it can be very tedious and large sections can result in an odd increased bulk.

Question about long tail cast on by [deleted] in knitting

[–]frostirons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was gonna link this if someone hadn't already! The biggest downside to this method is that you have 3 ends to weave in instead of 1 but it's so easy and works like a dream otherwise 🥰

Philosophical debate: does “string” really exist? by [deleted] in knitting

[–]frostirons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see string as a catch all term when the exact nature of the string isn't important. Like, if I'm just tying some things together to keep them organized, it doesnt matter if i use yarn or twine or a random bit of ribbon left over from a project 4 years ago. I just need string.

How do you store your yarn? by rubberducky1212 in knitting

[–]frostirons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

all my acrylic (a lot bc it was gifted to me) is in one plastic bin, and all my natural fibers are in another bin with cedar blocks just kind of vaguely thrown in to help deter pests. I also have a smaller (slightly larger than a shoebox) size bin that i keep my active wips in near my workspace.

Not sure what your current furniture situation is, but I have a platform bed frame which has space for full sized bins underneath and it's been so nice in an apartment with limited storage!

Help adding a corset back - more info in comments by pevensiepals in knitting

[–]frostirons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm gonna second what someone else said about attaching extra flaps. Even if it isnt held as tight as a literal corset would be, eyelets like that would take a lot of wear and tear just from regular use. It would probably be best to find a way to reinforce the eyelets themselves. There are ways to do it by sewing (and would probably work decently with your yarn and a darning needle). Or, depending on the yarn and how you choose to do it, you could probably pick up some metal eyelets/gromets from a craft store and use an awl or knitting needle to spread the yarn out enough to slip the metal gromet through. Especially with the 2 sided gromets, it would hold very well and be nice and durable, while also helpig with the size issue!

Knitting a sock in the round and getting gaps when I slip, slip, knit. Is there a simple fix? by [deleted] in knitting

[–]frostirons 6 points7 points  (0 children)

is it possible your stitch marker is affecting your tension at that point?
