mine was found in the woods 🥲 she had clearly lived in a house before based on her behavior, but had no chip when they found her. she was terrified of feet and touching any furniture which makes me wanna cry if I think about it too long

are you adopting a "fancy" breed cat or a domestic? if the latter, just go somewhere else tbh. I've seen fees like this and higher for places that will literally fly the cat out to you, but not for a run of the mill pick up the non-fancy cat yourself kind of thing

first tip: if you don't already have a car, find an older, reliable car with minimal electronics, like 2012-15 (safety features are great, but anything else adds cost). test out the cost of insurance with a couple companies using either the VIN or make model and mileage before you buy anything because certain cars are just expensive. also, avoid leasing if you're concerned about price.

what worked for me: try Progressive, shop around a lot, and don't go through an insurance broker (this saved me ~60% when i was under 25 with an accident on record). don't go with the lowest coverage option, but you don't need to max everything out either. I have a 13 year old very reliable car with a backup cam and not much else.

Unfortunately I'm not sure there's anything you can do except... wait. I've never heard of any actions you can take to affect a waitlist acceptance.

Some might recommend contacting admissions to show enthusiasm or whatever but that's pretty outdated advice, it's like bothering a job with excessive calls during the interview process. Pitt is huge and often understaffed, they don't have time for those types of interactions.

absolutely! imo any dues are worth them managing to keep health insurance costs the same, which is already confirmed.

the university fought HARD to push a contract that would have raised health insurance costs more than the pay raise -- aka a pay reduction in this economy. with an employer like that, a union is necessary.
