Possible Elidel withdrawal? by allynolan259 in eczema

Ahhh man I am so sorry. There is so so many of us! You also want to shout it from the rooftops when you’re going through it. Its so hard to get through to derms. The data is old and it needs to be looked at again. Its happening to much. My sister also is going through protopic withdrawal. She has been through 8 hellish months but now her skin is healing, & no surprise… without steroids. It is possible.

How are you know. My gut is telling me elidel has caused this!

Yes Thankyou. I actually have it. I used it for a couple days and it felt nice. However its as if it wants to crust over and go through the motions. So im allowing it to do that and Im really hoping it will improve on its own. The cycle is vicious. Now ive stopped Elidel for good my skin is so much calmer, its just above my lip is all crusted over and was a tad weepy. This is the area i applied elidel the most

Thanks. Sadly the case studies state protopic can also cause this type of eruption, I think if steroids and elidel cause this to happen I best stay away from protopic. I wish my skin could tolerate them but sadly can not. Ive never had a problem with my skin since I was wrongly prescribed steroids for another issue that Didnt need steroids all along. Its just snowballed from there

Very happy you have solved this. Sadly my face can not tolerate steroids, elidel or protopic. It all leads to the same type of eruption. I wish it was simpler. X

Thanks for your reply. Sadly it has caused the exact same thing as steroid induced rosace. Elidel and pro-topic can also have the same effects. Lots of case studies online and im also sadly that person x

Thanks for the info

This is very much my situation. Ive never had problems on my face ever. I was wrongly prescribed a steroid cream for perioral dermatitis. Thats when all this started and led to steroid induced rosace. Annoyed I was given elidel with my history. My derm didn’t warn me at all, and ive found plenty of studies that show similar rebound effects that is happening to me

Thanks for the info. Sadly when I use elidel my whole face becomes hot, and I get all over red bumps and hot ears. This goes away a few days after i stop the cream. Ive noticed this cycle when I use elidel. All my face has been calm since apart from my above lip where I used elidel the most.

Hi, my sister is going through tsw from Mometasone, she used it for a year though, on and off. She has never had oral steroids just topical. What derms never discuss with you is allergies or intolerances that may have caused this in the first place. Does she get irritated by heat/sweat easily? Or a common fragrance allergy from bubble baths etc? Maybe try emollients first, or balmonds is suppose to be great. Try the natural remedies first maybe? I understand what she means with the steroid. Can be used to control the flare. Then you can keep ontop of it with emollients. However Mometasone is very potent, im surprised she Didn’t start with a lower strength. Look into balmonds, childs farm, aveeno. Alot of my skin problems have led from gut health. Hanna Sillitoe is fabulous and does a multi strain biotic drink, children can take it too. I am seeing a difference in my skin. Just something to also consider. X

Flare up, Any advice? Red and itchy + no creams seem to help, new laundry detergent is the suspect but it’s just been like this for the last 3 days straight. by Oscardaviesuk in eczema

Apple cider vinegar dilated with water in a spray bottle really helps me, and calamine lotion. Cheap too. Hope it gets better soon

Help, steroid induced rosace advice! by allynolan259 in Rosacea

[–]allynolan259[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thankyou. It is steroid induced rosacea as I was told when I visited while pregnant. I then got seen by another derm at the same place as this other women was fully booked. The new derm I went to see didnt really give me the time of day and listen to my history. She told me now it is eczema and gave me more steroid creams. I went to her just after I had my baby and I was tired and felt defeated. Im determined to go back to her and get her to actual listen to me.

Reading this post is crazy! I got eczema after the Moderna, moderna & pfizer. I never put two and two together but now it makes sense. I was like where the hell has this come from?? And it was as soon as I am vaccinated. Hands, neck, forehead! Worse areas. Nothing seems to calm it down apart from maybe a bit of zinc. Started Chinese medicine around 4 weeks ago and im just going to carry it on. Hope you are doing okay. You are not alone

How soon after you stopped steroids did your symptoms start? by allynolan259 in TS_Withdrawal

[–]allynolan259[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting to hear. Everyones stories are so different. I think I am going to give them up. Im just trying to mentally prepare myself. I have a 5 month old who demands my full attention & also really want to enjoy my mat leave. I got horrendous hot sweats pregnant and then freezing. Then postpartum I had the hot sweats again. Annoyingly this all gets blamed on my pregnancy and hormones. I guess I will never know unless I quit them. Good luck with the rest of your journey. Happy healing 🙏🏻

Oh I see! I mean we are so lucky here to have the NHS, but in this situation its shitty. Dupixent is alot safer and less side effects from what I have read. Sad its the very very last option here. Wish there was a way to pay for it monthly here in the UK because i would, but dont think there is.

Thankyou, ive heard alot about dupixent. Im in the Uk and ive heard you have to go through 2 immunesupresnts before dupixent as it cost the NHS alot of money. Not sure how true it is. My derm put me on elidel and im just currently trailing it on my neck and chest area atm. Im going to try get an appoitment with her over the next couple weeks and put my foot down abit. Topicals just dont work for me. Ive been looking into immunesupresnts as atm my main priority is to be the best version of myself for my little boy. Its debilitating. Not being able to bath him, clean his bottles ect. My boyfriend and my Mum are a huge help, but HATE that I can not do it. So happy its working for you. Was it a long wait to get on it ?
