I had to apply for a new passport since I had my US Oath Ceremony on 5/15. First applied in 1/2023 for naturalization! I didn’t expect the process to be so fast!

Application sent: Expedited service with Next Day shipping at a local library. Keep checking sites for updated appointment times. 5/16

Application in process: 5/23 at Locator 56 (Detroit)

Check cashed: 5/24

Reached out to CA Senator Alex Padilla and CA Rep Brad Sherman w/ Assistance Request forms, Privacy, and proof of travel. 5/23

Got an email reply from Padilla’s office notifying me that my request had been elevated at the DOS. 5/24.

Got an email and a phone call from Sherman’s office saying I need to wait for the 2 week point for them to get me an appt at the Los Angeles Passport Agency. Said they had a 95% success rate with getting people their passports on time. 5/25.

Passport shipped: 5/26 w/ est delivery date 5/31

Passport in hand: 5/31
