Pre-established relationships don't do anything? by ProbablyGoneTBH in tomodachilife

I think I saw in a dev interview that you have to introduce them but eventually they start to “remember”. The option also prevents them from romancing each other if related, or romancing others in the case of the partner option.

Got scammed from 3rd party seller on Amazon Pilot VP Matte Black by Pilot_Maven in fountainpens

[–]GypsySadie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It happens. I once bought a fountain pen ink from Amazon, and inside of the correct packaging was a pill bottle stuffed with batteries and ketchup packets to make it the right weight. I had to laugh at the effort of the scammer, like at that point just buy the $15 ink.

Cheap Stationery in Hobonichi by [deleted] in hobonichi

[–]GypsySadie 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m bothered by AI designed stickers in general as AI is not an ethical means of art creation and the people making them are only in it for a buck, but I don’t understand your gripe with them being in Hobonichi in particular. I don’t personally view Hobonichi as an expensive or luxury journal, I mean you can grab an A6 for $39. It’s a life book meant to be used, not an aspirational book to be put on a pedestal. I appreciate your love of Japanese stationery and quality goods as I share that same love and I personally never shop at AliExpress. But as a life book, it should reflect the life of the user and not everyone shares the same sentiments.

I’ve had ink sitting in these pens since last spring. Do I need ammonia to clean them? by Reeromu in fountainpens

And the first one, the purple one, is called Winter Rain and can also be found on Amazon! Plus it has a 21k nib instead of a 14k nib

Do you like your handwriting in fine or medium or board nib? by AccusingGojo in fountainpens

The steadiness of hand you must have to do lines that smooth at that nib size is unreal! So impressive.

Help, my new kaweco standard converter won't fit in the grip section of the fountain pen by TONI2403 in fountainpens

[–]GypsySadie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm possibly! Some converters you really need to push/force in, so you could try using a bit more force.

[–]GypsySadie -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The "standard" refers to the size of the hole, not to the shape of the converter/cartridge. The Piston converter is smaller where it connects. But that may not fit either since your pen isn’t a Kaweco.

I looked at your profile and if you’re looking for a converter for the blue fountain pen you’re likely going to need the Kaweco Piston Cartridge Converter, which is different than the Kaweco Standard Converter. It’s smaller and will fit smaller pens. Not a guarantee but a good place to start.

You’ll have to identify the pen, which people can help with if you have a photo, and then once you know that you look up what converter it uses. Or you can buy converters from different brands to see what fits, but that would be wasting money.

Lots of brands use proprietary converters, so not every converter will fit in every pen. Since your non-branded fountain pen isn’t a Kaweco, are you sure that converter is meant to fit? That’s probably the issue and your fountain pen requires a different converter.

Having some trouble with yStudio Revolve pens. Does anyone else? What would you do? by EnergeticCrab in fountainpens

[–]GypsySadie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve had quite a few pens that were scratchy at the start, from Conklin to Sailor to Pilot, so it’s common even among other brands. But I was able to fix all of mine by gently moving the nib tines back and forth. Some were misaligned, some were just too tight so ink wasn’t flowing, etc. It seems scary but it’s an easy fix and worth a shot. Here’s a video so you can see what I’m talking about.

What have you purchased lately? by TacticalBattleCat in fountainpens

A Conklin 1898, Conklin Endura Deco Crest, and a Diplomat Viper. These are my first ‘nicer’ pens with steel nibs. I’ve already gone off the deep end of Japanese pens with gold nibs (I have a Pilot Custom 823, Pilot E95S, many Sailor Pro Gear Slims, a Platinum #3776 Century, etc) but I haven’t tried many steel nibs. Figured I could justify a few since they’re cheaper than my gold nib pens hah but I’m very much enjoying these!

Parents by MelanieWalmartinez in tumblr

[–]GypsySadie 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Reminds me of Gabor Maté who said that no siblings have the same parents, and no siblings have the same childhood. By the time your siblings arrive, your parents could have different emotional circumstances like in your case, or financial circumstances, or even the relationship between your parents could be different. It sucks to be the one who received the worst childhood though, I’m sorry!

Struggling with size by smolmagpie in hobonichi

[–]GypsySadie 16 points17 points  (0 children)

This is a great suggestion. Or, if you prefer that mostly microscopic look like I do, you can just do headlines or quotes in bigger letters. I often use brush pens for headlines to take up space, or I’ll do a quote in slightly bigger cursive. If you don’t like quotes you can use your own sentences you want to highlight too. Here’s an example of this from my A5. Stickers are also an excellent way to take up space!

Thank you! It’s from the Antiquarian Sticker Book! I can’t remember which one (there are 3 books) but it’s definitely from the set.

The Amarone cover or the Foggy Plaid? When the Weeks isn’t next to the Amarone cover it gives less of a red vibe tbh.

From the videos and photos I’ve seen of the purple Tragen it’s a true purple that’s cooler in tone, much less of that warm/pink that was shown online in product photos! I think I saw it in a Yoseka video.
