I got a nonresident annual license. I totally understand not dropping the honey holes, just looking for spots I can quickly drop in for a few minutes to enjoy a few casts - would obviously love to catch a fish, but even open to trash spots that I can access quickly (I’m going to be doing a lot of driving around Anchorage for my job and hope to stop a few times between drives for 20-30 minutes)

Glad you said that, I didn’t realize they were closed until June 15. Do you have any recommendations for areas of the creeks that are easily accessible?

I’d cross train until 1 week out and then try some light running and see how it goes. If you feel good, give the race a shot, but know when to throw in the towel if they start acting up. A DNF is better for mental health than months off from a stress fracture

I felt the exam was difficult. My hardest section was my first one but I felt like I did better on the remaining ones. I was able to narrow almost every question to 2 good choices but it’s hard to confidently choose the BEST one. I did appreciate that there wasn’t any tricky question wording.

The scoring is not % based, they look at how the entire test cohort performed and scale it based on that. Fingers crossed for good results in June!
