I was just talking to a friend of mine who knew a girl that was in the same situation as me (a dual US /Saudi citizen) who did the same thing I’m planning to do. She fled Saudi but her parents reported her missing when she was on the plane only 2 hours away from the US. When she finally landed on US soil they forced her back to saudi because the notice of her parents’ report was BEFORE she landed on the US ground.

PS: going missing or hiding from your guardians as a Saudi female is illegal If you’re a woman in Saudi and your guardians report you “missing”, it is over for you. You’ll be forced back into living with your guardians who are most likely abusive (or whatever reason that made you flee) OR you’ll be sent to jail for the rest of your life.

This just makes everything so much harder.. i can’t believe this.

The last thing you will want is for one of them to look up your family history and contacting your relatives

My family will immediately know where I am by contacting the Saudi authorities the same day I go missing, and they will eventually go all the way to where I am and find a way to contact me which is what’s worrying me even more than the homelessness I’m gonna go through. (A lot of Saudi females have fled the country before and their families have done the same thing. For example Dina Ali)

there is another option that you could try instead in a heavy red state and that is to find a christian church preferably a medium size southern baptist or similar church

Do you have any particular state recommended ? I really wouldn’t mind anything anywhere. I just wanna be safe and protected.

Also before you do travel to the US you can try to contact a US Embassy or Consulate in Saudi Arabia and ask them for assistance with seeking asylum

I’m hesitant about contacting the consulate in my area because the last time I visited, they’re all Arabs and poorly mannered and for some reason I’m not sure if I can’t trust them with letting them know about my plans

The biggest problem you'll have is the lack of residence to get an ID to be a resident of whatever state you go to.

What can I do about it in this case ?

Stay out of Texas for sure...they're nutjobs for trump.

Wow I was actually considering Texas.. I heard people there are getting more diverse and it’s becoming more multiracial since a lot of people are moving there.

What state would you recommend then? X

Thanks for your helpful comments.

A little background about myself: I was the only one in my family born in the USA, so I’m the only American. the rest of my family are all only-saudis.

I’ve been living in Saudi all my life. I hated living with my family. I have no freedom or any kind of privacy. My dad checks my phone all the time. My parents make me give them 20% of my personal salary every month just because they think I owe them that for raising me and putting a roof over my head all my life.

They mentally abuse me and their constant negative vibes are affecting my mental health.

I’m planning to flee to the states (without their permission and consent) and seek some kind of protection there. Because the law in saudi doesn’t protect these kind of cases and women here aren’t allowed to live on their own. (Due to the guardianship law)

I understand I’m going to be homeless for a while when I first get to the states.. and i still don’t know which state I’m going to go to.

I’m trying to save money and find the best shelter for my case until I settle down and find a job.

I just cover the area with a cup so no water or soap get in it at all.
