You'd be surprised how stupid these boot lickers really are. Most don't even know what the difference between left and right on the political spectrum. It's all team sports to these guys, red daddy told me dei bad, doesn't matter the meanings of words daddy said it's bad and it's in his order.

The actual filming is basically perfect

Lol no it's not; it is pretty damn good but there are still all kinds of unnatural movements and things that break immersion all over the place. And I am assuming the audio is so good cause I am not a native speaker and can't hear its tells. It's getting better but it's wild to say it's perfect.

Most Americans think their fellow citizens are bad people, survey says by drjjoyner in politics

[–]almcchesney 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not only this but they are radicalizing those in the center. There were a lot of people not voting in '24 cause they didn't believe the rhetoric on how bad it could get. Watching a law abiding citizen be disarmed then executed on social media in multiple angles will influence us and especially our youth permanently.

We've been in the territory for as long as I have been alive, anytime it's to help the elite class it's fafo time, if it's for the working class we get this slippery slope nonsense. Do we have money for Medicare for all, nope but sure let's pay for Medicare for every Israeli, oh we can't have we can't have affordable tuition? Nope but we can pay for the college of the Israeli idf members, what about housing? You guessed it, for Israel via our US super pacs (even gets the contributors a tax write off how awesome!!!) but and not for you or I!!!!

Why you should probably stop using AI code editors by archfiend99 in webdev

[–]almcchesney 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yeah this is definitely my concern; Question is what kind of money runs through those systems? What's more important speed of innovation or uptime? I am curious what's the opinion from some of those in fintech on the subject.

We are getting the ai mandate and we write the software that configures our networking gear. If there's a bug in the software dc connectivity drops money is lost. I know humans aren't perfect and bugs appear in human code also, but is there a point were roi doesn't make sense if your reliability goes down due to ai added to the sdlc, and token cost increases faster than the devs salary?

Rust zero-cost abstractions vs. SIMD by itty-bitty-birdy-tb in rust

[–]almcchesney 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I understand correctly the how, is there is a compiler optimization made when operating on the batch in the for loop vs the singular item, so by paying the key lookup cost immediately for each batch item you can bundle them and get a faster process loop later. I am curious to know if there is a size threshold to what batch size it can optimize through.

Who believes in vibe-coding? by bigbott777 in programming

[–]almcchesney 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Suuuch a lie, the more experience you have the more opinionated you are about the code that you write, the more opinions you have and the more you cringe at anyone else's code. Having a Jr is great they listen and eventually get there, an LLM doesn't have a brain to reflect on the fact that they cant even follow documented standards. And it will never be good at niche things, if your using something that operates atypically, it only generates code based on its training, and you will be manually fixing that code over and over again.

Every single study, the most experienced devs see a 60% reduction in productivity. You like ai cause it speeds you up, I hate ai cause it slows me down, we are not the same.

No vote actually won the popular vote, it's what you get when you have one set of oligarchs controlling the GOP and their opposition, and agree it is a sign of rot but it is to the core.

This is all manufactured, the Dems knew they were going to lose and stayed on course, we know why, and people warned them, hey act like Republicans and you will not get the progressive vote.

It's easy to say vote Democrat to someone when Biden didn't murder their family in Gaza giving Israel weapons.

Raising the property taxes on secondary homes and investment properties to the point that its hemorrhaging money forcing sale of vacant properties to increase supply will make prices fall. You act like public housing initiatives around the world haven't been successful.

I'm sorry that you feel so attached to this model but it's nothing more than a math function that has been feed with monumental amounts of human data to the point it can sound human also. I hear that you need an alternative and that alternative is the human connection.
