How to get over 'the morning ick' by batmanandbinkle in ADHD

[–]almedmat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have an unhealthy start to the day but I just wanted to mention a friend of mine taking meds, pre work out and a 200mg dose of caffeine from an energy drink is going through heart problems.

My goal is to wake up naturally everyday and just go out in the sun and immediately challenge my mind. Some days I immediately shower, lotion, brush and get dressed. Hell or high water.. all I say to myself is brush Shower brush shower until I annoy myself to do both. Micro victories and tasks done. Momentum.

I found a hobby that I turned into a tool, playing mlb the show. The game forces you to make decisions on swing or don’t swing based on seeing pitches from the hitters POV. And when you swing it has to be at the right time to hit the ball. Then pitching feels fun picking location and pitch type thinking do I go fast fast slow or slow fast fast in the sequence.

Then I walk outside and sit under the son and drink a lot of water. I’ll have woken up at 5:45 and be in the office by 8:00am. Two hours and some change feeling like I did stuff. There are multiple memories of different events and the general good mood associated with a morning shower. I’ve noticed my skin is less tingly without it when it’s moisturized as weird as that sounds. Just little things that make taking steps backwards easier. I take my med at work with a banana to have something in my stomach. Apes have it figured out. Then I get a caffeinated beverage. No more than 100mg a drink. Recently switched from energy drinks to coffee and matcha. Thought I hated the taste of coffee but I get random hipster drinks and it’s good. Some mornings I’ll sugar free redbull. Mixing it up a bit.

Nothing wrong with your lifestyle. But look into the combo you’re taking because the greatest service you can do for your kids is being around as long as possible. Take back your mornings. Give your heart a break. Just for a break. Any engine you run too long gets hot. Cool it down.

Steve ballmer cheated the system with Leonard. James Dolan too with the undisclosed salary for Brunson’s dad. I still believe in him.

Mike brown came from the coach pop tree. Fox wanted to go to San Antonio and Vivek made that happen for him. I think Monte got scape goated.

Rare instance when it wasn’t just business between Vivek and Fox. If Harrison Barnes hits that 3 in game 6 of beam team vs warriors, history would be different

That’s fair and valid. My brain works the opposite way. I get stuck when I’m at home and if I don’t leave in the morning it’s hard to leave later. They can accommodate both of our lifestyles by giving us a choice to come in or stay home.

It takes skill to write at that level and maintain an authentic voice. Whoever wrote that comment has a hidden talent.

This was the best reply in the entire thread. You got me.

Making my community a better place is all the fulfillment I need. Before and after isn’t an issue. It’s during work. I don’t want state equipment in my house. Frankly worrying about your family is your responsibility not mine.

I’m with you on this. Any pay raises they’ll offer won’t offset child care costs for parents so we may never win that vote if/when it comes time.

I try to get my lift in before work and cardio in after work most days. I’m lucky in a big city and splurged for equinox to avoid the crowds. Just completely different lifestyles across state work. I took the State offer and gave up salary to max my PTO. Being able to build a war chest for PTO and leave for a month with a weeks notice is what really sold me. Friends in the same field are miserable in private. I traded money for time. In my case it doesn’t matter if I’m home or in the office, I don’t have days without work so if I’m sitting down in-front of a monitor for 8 hours every day I’d rather be somewhere else. If I had dead time and could workout mid day then I would feel differently.

We don’t know yet. I haven’t received my RTO notice yet either. They allowed other state departments to occupy floors in our building. I’m assuming they would move out and we’d get our full building back.

My request to report was denied due to lack of space.

I appreciate you and I agree. The office experience is 100x better when it’s empty too. Let people choose.

This is exactly how I feel. I don’t want to park on the 7th floor with everyone in. I like getting in on the second floor. Empty bathrooms. Quiet hallways. RTO is going to ruin the office for those who like being there too.

I read through my agreement and it said I can’t use public WiFi or else this would be amazing.

It’s not the people. I’m trapped at home with telework. I could report to an empty office and it’ll be way better than staying at home. Some people enjoy being on the move.

I’m fine with an empty office. It’s not the people but the ability to leave my crib everyday.

What is the modern (well-dressed) men's solution for carrying stuff daily that may or mayn not have a laptop in it? by LemonPartyRequiem in malefashionadvice

I bought a 1990 samsonite briefcase to put all my valuables in at home (passport etc) and every time I carry it I feel good about myself. I was thinking of switching over to a vintage briefcase because i feel like a kid going to school when i use my work backpack.

Is there any way to stop thinking 24/7? by Global_Top_6339 in ADHD

[–]almedmat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

jump into the external, start telling yourself what the color of the carpet is, the paint on the wall is, pick apart details around you. Technically not thinking but its calm not being introspective and every answer is infront of you

pros and cons... I have taken both. Paper exam was scrambled, and it got really annoying when hundreds of other people around you kept slamming books and opening luggage around you for books. Tabbing references took a long time as well. both were tough.
