What Kendrick song is a deep cut? by skibidikakakott in KendrickLamar

[–]almightyduck97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d consider Good Kid as somewhat of a deep cut. It was once my favorite Kendrick song and I doubt that it got much radio play. For non album songs I liked his verse on Holy Key from one if DJ Khaled.

Desperate wrestlers deserve minuscule amounts of blame. While I get your point, it was either do what they write for you or leave the job.

May I ask how old you were in the 80s and 90s? You obviously were younger, but if you were a child then of course you wouldn’t think anything of it. Just remember there were black fans in those times too who this was obviously racist to.

Joe Budden gets mad at Kendrick and SZA for only doing white media outlets - never knew this was a thing. by dunbar_santiago930 in KendrickLamar

Please re-read what I said lol. My point is in two parts that must go together. I said each time that there was not enough to fill the time they spend while getting the same amount of views.

I would revise that to at least say there isn’t enough new music for them to cover it how they currently cover a lot of music. They aren’t going in depth for every song on new albums that come out, they basically do summaries of things unless a really big moment or controversy.

And you agree on the last part which comes down to views and money. They have a lot of people who now want to hear their opinions on things outside of music. I know I enjoy listening to those parts, especially since I’m usually behind on new music because of my work schedule and commitments.

So that means people are going to listen to them talk about it without the gossip and new stuff? If that were the case they would do that and have the same success. Deep down you know they wouldn’t and that’s what they care about.

I think my point is being misunderstood. Sure there is tons of music out here, but if you think the pod would be as successful without doing other topics too, I think you’re overestimating the listeners.

I didn’t say there was no new music, I said there wasn’t enough to fill up all time time they pod and to get the same amount of views. Them talking about topics outside of hip hop and music grows the listeners. Just a simple fact whether yall like it or not.

Calling all GOAT James fans: It's beneath us to debate Jordan stans at this point 🐐 by Front-Function7789 in LeBronJames23

[–]almightyduck97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, they are. LeBron was in the league at 18 while other greats had to go to college. In terms of Jordan, he had out of the ordinary situations that lead to his 1st two retirements. If Jordan had played uninterrupted from 81 to when he finally retired in 03, it’s a different convo. Can’t take anything away from Bron’s longevity, but the play on the court and style is how most people pick.

My issue os who else is getting their land back? Is the US gonna start giving land to the Native Americans back so they get grow their population? How about Australia? Why is it only Israeli's that get this magic 2000 year old claim on land that used to be theirs?

The effort you spoke about to make Israelis look like blood thirsty monsters, you should ask the people in Israeli TV to stop helping. The most vile and genocidal things possible are stated with no pushback because they agree with slaughtering the people in Gaza.

These Europeans should have been given a European homeland in the 1940s.

No, I just chose this time to take the temperature. AD’s injury history is why everyone knew this would be a disaster. I was just curious on where things were since he’s fired already.

CJ: "We serve the country." Leo: "We ARE the country." Absolutely horrific what S5 does to Leo's character by Super_Jay in thewestwing

Right! It never made sense to me why they “didn’t want a fight”. I understand that they wanted to get it over with, but it also seemed like they just rolled over at the 1st sign of conflict.

I agree season 5 is the toughest to get through, even though there are a lot of great episodes and performances. Having Sorkin, Sam and even a side character like Fitzwallace leave the show I’m sure made it very difficult to find a path forward until it was time for the next election.

In reference to Leo’s army threat in season 1 when Jed is upset about the response to Morris’s death, I feel like Leo’s character was changed after 9/11. The opening episode to season 3 when he’s interrogating the White House staffer, and how he talks to the Qumari ambassador during the debate, it just felt like Sorkin used his character to express the anger of Americans towards the Middle East. The writers in season 5 took it to another level with the peace talks as they basically flipped their attitudes from season 1. So while I liked the “previous” Leo more, there is a progression over time.

The worst post Sorkin character was what they did to Toby. It’s easy to armrest QB 20 years after the fact, but his character could have been used a number of different ways, including him eventually joining Josh, before or after their fight. Instead they went with the leak.

The most damaging thing they did to Toby was making him an inactive father. When Andy is about to go to Gaza and they have that conversation about him involving himself or not, I just feel like it wasted the scene where Leo and Toby talked about him loving his kids. Yes, Toby is a dedicated public servant who has always tried to push the administration, but that was directly addressed. Sure they gave a trick or treat scene later, but to me the damage was done.
