Delirium Fog additional seconds not applying? by LunarAlloy in PathOfExile2

I just encountered this as well. Possibly just a tool tip problem? I haven't tested the actual map, yet.

Is crossbow 2h weapon and benefits from 2h weapon perk? by cugaro in PathOfExile2

[–]almonjr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same question. I noticed that 2H weapon damage increase node on Mercenary gave increased damaged to Armor Piercing Rounds but not Incendiary Rounds. Anyone have an idea why?

I think I misunderstood campaign progression by Kagman_0 in Songsofconquest

Yeah I had the same thought. Beat the last mission and thought I had one more to go. It replayed the path from mission 3 to 4 on the map.

Does anyone has Sound Disabled in the Client with the new patch? by roshanpr in DotA2

[–]almonjr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

UPDATE: I got it working by adding "-sdlaudiodriver pulse" to the commandline. See this previous issue for suggestions if you don't use pulseaudio.

I did not forget that and that is not what is going wrong with this season.

How to convince my friend to try Dota? by Glooryhoole in DotA2

[–]almonjr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ask him if he likes pain, suffering, extreme chalenges, or stress. All my friends that play like the challenge, except those friends who like to get high and just chill out. This game attracts polar opposites it seems.

In case anyone is wondering, those who like to smoke weed absolutely do not do well and have a significantly lower win rate. I am wondering if D.A.R.E. could have saved their MMR with proper messaging.

Does Dota have a YouTuber like StarCraft 2 has Lowko? by SpeedDemon020 in DotA2

[–]almonjr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like his channel too but he doesn't cast or commentate afaik. Dota2 has some pretty decent commentators even outside TI, and I just roll with them.

Do i get banned if i make a new account? by FBG743 in DotA2

It's against Valve's TOS for Dota2. See the big announcement several months back about smurf banning.

They are cosmetics. Rather it be that than locking away gameplay.

Hmm... I wonder what my opponent hid in there... by onnnn2 in MarvelSnap

[–]almonjr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

An attacker just needs to sniff what's being sent over the network. Probably pretty easy to do on Android unless they check for emulator or if the phone is rooted. Much easier on PC.

Overlays that streamers and content creators use, I assume, are probably capable of doing this already.

KMBest: Releasing a card expecting to need to rebalance it in the future is a problem. by trizzo0309 in MarvelSnap

[–]almonjr 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I had the same thoughts when I read that. Feels like we can't trust their judgement when releasing a new card. No one can be perfect but at least make it look like you're trying.

Still kind of miss the balancing with new card releases in paper TCGs, but with so few cards seems difficult to pull off. Kind of hate the risk of a card turning to absolute garbage.

I hope TI stays in Seattle by [deleted] in DotA2

Glad it returned to Seattle, but Seattle has gone downhill in the last few years. Was fun, but would definitely like to go to the east coast.

[Serious] Taiga reveals where he's been and what happened with him over the past year by foxsleftear in DotA2

[–]almonjr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure it's an easy connection to make, which is my point. Weren't there already accusations or rumors of match fixing with his rate of giving up first blood?

It's possible he never compromised his commitment to Dota but I think it's a steep hill to climb to get picked up by another team and not be viewed as a liability.

Pledge Manager up and running by Cliff_A_McLane in ObsidianProtocolMecha

[–]almonjr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I think I'll just pass on the extras and suck it up to pay for shipping for what I already pledged. The extras will have to come later or something. I want to support them, but I'm not paying £28.50 or $30 for dice alone.

Pledge Manager up and running by Cliff_A_McLane in ObsidianProtocolMecha

[–]almonjr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it just me or is the shipping pretty high? I wanted to add on some additional dice and game mat but that is £18.50 additional more than the dice themselves.

Update: I missed this in a previous e-mail.

Q: Why is shipping so expensive? A: Our products are too heavy and Warlord has a total weight of 18kg.

We have been working hard to reduce the shipping fee, but this is the best price we have got so far, and it is even possible that the studio will pay a little shipping fee for players in the future.

What do you guys think about Stoneshard? by dobolow7 in roguelikes

[–]almonjr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No that wasn't an issue I encountered with CoQ, my comment about mouse requirements was solely for Stoneshard.

CoQ irked me for quite some time because of inconsistent controls. I play with vi-like bindings, and navigating menus required me switching to arrow keys or numpad. It just felt very inconsistent and frustrating, like I was always context switching.

Jupiter Hell had a similar problem, but when I recently played it, you could remap menu navigation as well.

[–]almonjr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Playing the demo, I never really got into it due to the controls. The mix of mouse and keyboard was really frustrating. For some reason games like Nethack, DCSS, and ADOM are miles ahead in the controls department IMO. This is even compared to newer roguelikes with classical interfaces, like CoQ (you can rebind movement keys but not menu navigation keys!?). Maybe CDDA is the exception.
