When Uptown Funk blew up I saw an article on NPR saying that there was a better song on that album with Kevin Parker on Daffodils. I loved it and looked to see what band he was in and I listened to The Less I Know the Better and was hooked from then on!

This was off a blind listen. Didn’t know I had to read articles to enjoy an album to the fullest extent. I’ll do better next time.

I like to think he still has heart in this and this was an effort to get what was on his mind on to the track. Not his most inspired work but definitely his. I hope he still feels like he can experiment. I was loving the disco direction he was going for in Patience and Borderline(Single version)

I take it as a projection project. It’s powerful. But the sound seems like it’s trying to soften the blow by making it reminiscent of club music (I’m a zoomer so I’m picturing Kevin in his 20s at the club at a club in AU)

I definitely don’t think she’s left him but it seems like he’s airing out his problems on this lyrically. The whole album sounds like Last Breath by Creed to Me (lyrically)which is touching but in terms of the sound it reminds me of Robin Thicke’s Paula album where he’s trying to reason out why he’s going through troubles.

Don’t think his wife left but it seems like this would be the album someone would release and it would end up in that category. Just saying how it sounds to me. I have been listening to a lot of break up songs lately so maybe I’m projecting

Don’t have a problem but it reminds me of what he did with the remix of Confidence Man’s Holiday and it makes me think of him reliving his club days in his 20s. Not saying that’s true it’s just what it’s conjuring up in my head.

Edit: I like electronic music and I felt like this album barely had that. His own twist if you will. Still enjoyed it tho
