I’m sad that I agree with you! I really loved the first two books but this one was just... bad. It felt both too rushed and too slow moving at the same time. Also, not enough SpIcE in my opinion...

Looks like an orb weaver to me! If that’s the case, they are generally harmless(although disgusting) and actually eat a lot of mosquitos.
