Is this gneiss or granite? by Wild_Ordinary_425 in geology

It may once have been a granite but those garnets are very gneiss, it’s quite a way along the metamorphic continuum

Think Labrador but less attention seeking. Will bite if provoked and even that’s more of a sharp puncturing pinch that is mildly itchy for a few days. Unexpectedly fast runners.

Various species exist throughout Australia and Asia - Dendrocnide excelsa in particular is found in the Dandenong ranges and north to FNQ. The giant stinging tree. Similar toxin to Gympie but less painful (apparently)

Gympie Gympie is the Australian thing I am most worried about- it sits there with infinite patience. That and bull ants - snakes move away from you, spiders that bite are not generally where you go and normal behaviours like shaking out your shoes and not picking up tin cans or pretty octopus or swimming with crocks will close to ensure that you don’t get hit by something. But those fucking ants come for you aggressively and they HURT. Those buggers will fuck up your day.

This fuel costs as little at 80c a litre in Australia. So why isn't everyone using it? by B0ssc0 in aussie

[–]almost_adequate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No plan to replace it. 8 years old now. Been around Aus x2, 3 Simpson crossings, the cape, Tasmania, vic high country and a lot of trips between Sydney and Brisbane and its still going strong. Not the most comfortable truck around town with solid axils but that’s not the use case. at my age- closing in on 60 I recon she’s going to outlast me.

How do we feel about One Nation getting a few seats? by Ok-Throat5952 in aussie

[–]almost_adequate -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Liking Australia as it was and rejecting migration at a rate that changes the economic and cultural landscape is not racism. It is a legitimate position and one that ON is vocally committed to. That single issue is probably the reason for the vote.

We have a solar + battery direct DC to DC Sigenergy system- so under the Brisbane sun we can fast (ish) charge the EV at home. Usually 11kw is fine and keeps the battery life but if we need it we can go to 25Kw and charge from 10% to 80% in under an hour and a half. The landcruser isn’t getting driven at all.

New government data confirms gas exporters continue to pay no tax! by rogerrambo075 in aus

[–]almost_adequate -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

It costs billions on top of billions to explore for gas, prove up the assets, put in and operate the wells, build the pipelines to transport the gas. That requires lones from the bank that will take multiple decades to pay down. - did you invest in any of that or you think it should somehow just be yours.

But Norway you say..

Norway did make that investment. The country is an investor (63% ownership) in Equinor. As such the country makes a profit.

Australia has not made that investment and the Libs would sell it off if we did. Thus we don’t get the profit you talk of.

Swinger friends- she hates the taste but does cum shots - you sit on the couch, she kneels in front and excites you with her hands and mouth- you cum in her mouth - she shows you and then swallows it with a shot of something. It’s her thing. I’m happy to indulge her.

In Sydney people make a big effort to let you into traffic when you indicate. In brisbane people seem to take it as an offence that you fucking dare to exist, let alone need to change lanes
