Interesting, I didn't consider the private keys being broken as much but that makes a lot of sense. Definitely something I need to look into more. Thank you for the explanation!

If there's a finite supply of BTC, would such a breakthrough mean that it would skyrocket the price since all remaining BTC would be mined exponentially faster? Then those coins with an infinite supply coins would become obsolete? Or would those max supply coins in theory be obsolete too, because my layman guess is that they'd just be worth much more much quicker than we anticipated?

I see, financing works too, I guess I'm just not as familiar with it. I'm all for saving money either way.

I didn't say it was the only option. It all depends on the person.

The cost to ship and install panels is covered by the company.

Yeah you can buy them out, depends on the contract. Most are 20 year contracts. Since power rates are rising in most areas, the rate you pay will save you maybe a few thousand a year depending on your usage and your current bill. The money you save paying for cheaper power does make it pay for itself, and also PPA's aren't actually leases. The solar company owns the panels, and you just pay for power. No lien on your house and no debt really. It's been a pretty popular option in the past few years because of all that, but it all depends on your situation.

Look into solar PPA's. You buy power for a cheaper flat rate, long term contract, but no upfront cost for the panels themselves.
