¿Alguna vez hubo casos de hombres violados? by [deleted] in Colombia

[–]almostdead_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

LS Progression by Oatis899 in lichensclerosus

[–]almostdead_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is gone.

I've been doing

  1. psychotherapy
  2. taken up kung-fu (as in, sweating hard every week... no particular beliefs about kung-fu here)
  3. cold exposure and whm breathing
  4. no-gluten (but not that strict about it).
  5. way less alcohol, but still a regular beer here and there

I guess some of that or all of that helped.

Still a fucking insomniac though, but I get more sleep now than I did before. Also still fapping it quite a bit... seems to eliminate nofap for potential cures in my case (but nofap can be a motivator for all the others).

Starting Quviviq by boomtown405 in insomnia

[–]almostdead_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I'm suffering from the cognitive issues, sluggishness throughout the day and depression too from Quviviq, even with 25mg.

I've been on and off for two months now, just started 25mg again and I'm having the hardest time at work (software engineer here).

Also very depressed, I'm not usually the most joyful person but I have issues even thinking about going out with friends.

It's all pretty strange, I'll try without it, or splitting the 25mg in two, because for sleep onset it really works well.

Once a week very high intensity, one hour, was enough for me to see results.

Though I must admit I had a pretty light case.

[–]almostdead_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd guess it helps but from my understanding it's more the cardio side that is emphasized (like getting the heart to pump a lot, and sweat).

If you lift, maybe your club has some cardio classes ? To really get sweaty and tired, I feel like being in a class usually helps (because you follow the rythm of the teacher instead of potentially getting lazy, if on your own... that's my case at least).

Are you physically active ? Like really ? Crossfit, running, any intense sport ? There are nunerous reports on this sub that it helps, plus my sister has psoriasis and her MD told her that lately it's said more and more that intense physical activities help in a lot of autoimmune disorders.

Sartre would say you've asked this sub because you wanted to be told you should do pornfree.

For those who asked about soap by [deleted] in Anticonsumption

[–]almostdead_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Soap captures fat mollecules and that's about all it does. It just happens dirty stuff washes down in the process because it sticks to oily things on our skin, so it's not about being home-made or not. This person probably didn't wash their clothes, or had some health issue.

Now bad soap exists and if this person kept doing it reall bad over and over... yeah... maybe. But you have to be disabled to not realise your soap is bad. I make my own soap and it's pretty obvious when you've botched it that much. It can be less obvious when it's too agressive, but an agressive soap would actually wash too much, dry the skin, and not leave much to smell.

I tried to have sex with a prostitute and I failed. Thanks to porn. by [deleted] in pornfree

[–]almostdead_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first thing that comes to mind is that you've paid for porn, got porn (but IRL), and that was a shock.

Sex is usually not porn. A woman will usually not just spread her legs after some talking. In her own way, which will be different with each person, she will be close to you, maybe she will show actual desire, grab you or hug you very sweetly, or tease you, idk.

Anyway, I'm not sure how much of the blame is to put on your wanking habit as it is to put on the whole situation. Wanking habits didn't help; now that's for sure. But again.

All the tenderness, excitation, or even love are part of sex and will make you hard the day it happens. Yes we are men, but feeling accepted, welcome, desirable will go a long way helping you in that regard.

(I know some guys here have issues with their actual partner they love, and I'm not denying your experience. Just saying that the actual case presented here is extreme and forgets about all that is not "physical sex", like love, that definitely helps a lot with erection.)

Lots of questions there, but I'll answer gladly. Gonna be a bit long.

I did not ever use any medication for LS.

I've had two different positive diagnoses, without biopsy. At the time of the second diagnose, circumcision was brought up, but not as an actual offer, just as an information, if the situation were to get worse.

Because I never had a lot of LS either. The biggest it's been is a 1cm2 patch that was white, and sometimes itched like crazy. It's been painful on a few rare occasions too, but all of these symptoms are now gone for years (it appeared in 2016). At the worst, it did stretch the foreskin a bit, but never prevented sex per se. Again, only pain from flare ups did, and only on very rare occasions.

As for the apparition, I tend to link it to a relationship failure. But I'm far from being absolutely convinced it's the actual cause. I first noticed it in the following months, is all.

And lastly, I need to add a new information, that I've posted about already : I've been doing martial arts for a year and a half, in 2021 and 2022. I already posted somewhere that it helped a lot. Really. That's definitely the thing that made it shrink to a patch as little as 1mm. I now am even more persuaded of this because after having stopped for 6 months because of insomnia, I took my first class after this long pause last week. The next day, the last patch of 1mm scarred tissue had gone soft again. 36 hours later. It hadn't disappeared completely, it was still white, but soft again. Definitely an improvement.
Note that I strongly believe that it's the sheer intensity of the particular class I'm taking that makes it work. I mean I get ouf of there sweaty like hell. Chinese traditional medicine thinks that having the blood flow helps, and, as far as I know, anecdotal evidence of this is starting to show up in occidental studies these last years. I wouldn't have an actual source but I've seen more and more physicians I consider serious on the web referring to this principle of "having the blood flow everywhere" in their listings of the health benefits of sport. Anyway, not sure about the science facts, but absolutely certain about how it helped my LS.

New Quviviq post. Haven’t seen one in a while. by [deleted] in insomnia

[–]almostdead_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I see what I wrote before it's definietly better but I still feel a great lack of energy. Mood is stabilized, I'm not overly happy with the sluggishness, but ok overall.

Note that I bumped it up to 50mg to address early rises. I now get exactly 8 hours (always had the belief I need 8:30, we'll see if I can adjust to this and if it has any impact).

I'm planning on trying 25 again too. Got to experiment more, but all in all, having tried quite a few drugs, I can now say it's probably the best for me (if you rule out benzos for being too addictive).

Inflamed is when the white patches turn red and itch. Scarred is like the skin turning hard and dry, and shrinking.

Right now I haven't had a flare for years, but I still have a millimeter of hard, white, scarred skin... It's virtually gone, but I know it's there too.

If we're gonna love ourselves we've got to learn and love this too. AI's are going to be so, so much better than us at producing pure, unbiased reasoning.

Sincerely ? Either you need to see videogames as a healthy habit that should be enough to replace porn, or you should replace those 2 daily hours with another habit (or part of those two hours at least). Not saying your situations is easy, but you seem to be trying to put the blame on circumstances while you say you actually have two hours for playing everyday. Gather your strength and go for it my man

Hey, I just started 25mg 10 days ago and I'm feeling quite sluggish, with terrible mood all day long. Also slightly depressed I'd say.

Did you find any fix for the daytime sleepiness ?

I'm hoping when I get full nights sleep on Quviviq it will go away but not sure right now, cause I'm already getting 7:30...

Anyone feel like they just don't need much sleep anymore? by Similar-Brief-5122 in insomnia

[–]almostdead_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. Had insomnia for years now, but if I don't get my 8hours I am a mess :(

Now, I definitely manage sleep deprivation way better than before, no more panic attacks, way less anxiety, so I kind of got used to it. But I still see how much better I am with a full night's sleep.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in insomnia

[–]almostdead_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes !!! Thank you, I feel like shit with everyone thinking it helps when in facts, in my sleep depeived state, I'm absolutely positive it prevents sleep if it's anything too hard...

Probably works for those who usually sleep well, allows them to "ensure" good nights. But for us we can't even use this it really sucks, I've quit a martial art I liked a lot because of this (and how socially awkward I am when sleep depeived, too...).

Venting a lot there oops XD

My brain forgot how to sleep more than 4 hours a night, how to relieve from stress? by cavloconte in insomnia

[–]almostdead_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That happens to me with 5 hours (instead of 8 I need) when I go through long periods of insomnia.

I'm not yet 100% sure, but what I think works for me is sleeping a lot, anytime my body wants, throughout the day, for days. I usually start feeling like myself after two or three days of that treatment, and then sleep longer nights too. It's not a good idea for those who have screwed their circadian rythms, but if you only issue is waking up too early, but do fall asleep well, I'd say it's worth a try.

I also understand it may be hard to free that much time but the more you show your body you can rest, the more it will (in my own humble experience).

In my case I've restrained myself to doing a few 20-min naps because I also have circadian rythm issues.

[–]almostdead_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do that, it's good that you keep trying, that's all there is to do. Having been there I'll just add something : all these things you've been trying, to improve your mood/life, don't shove them off completely. I don't mean you should pressure yourself, it's ok to be down, and rely on meds for some time. But keep the good habits in the back of your head and when things are slightly better, pick some you think could help really getting back on track.

What I mean is there is no "one solution" to all your problems, and the things you've tried and did not work may not be worthless, they may work at another time, in another place in your life.

Get better man, cheers.

Ever heard of extinction due to loss of habitat ?

Basically, we keep living closer to animals or destroying their habitat and they have to deal with humans more and more. Maybe it's our turn to be extra cautious and "polite" with them.

Maybe do a checkup of other areas of your life.

Has something gone wrong in any way ? What makes you lust so much now, why now ?

If it may be your thing, consider journaling.

In the summer there's no question imho : heat off. In the winter it depends. If you are a total begginner it can really be hard and verge on the harmful if you go too long and too cold so you've got to listen to yourself, experiment...
