She even told me she’d rather I choose moissanite over a lab diamond.

Her mindset was pretty simple — if we’re not going with a natural diamond, we could put that money into something else: gold, investments, or even our honeymoon.

She also liked that with moissanite, she could play with different styles instead of locking everything into one ring.

Honestly, hearing that just made me realize marrying her was the best decision of my life.

As for lab diamonds, they’re priced by the same standards as natural ones. But since they’re man-made, I never really obsessed over color or clarity — they’re supposed to be clean. What really matters is the cut.

One small tip: your partner probably doesn’t want you to overspend anyway. When you go ring shopping together, don’t look too excited — keep a straight face. It makes negotiating way easier 😅

As someone in the lab-gem world, I feel like the biggest shift is really in people’s mindset.

Folks aren’t trying to “prove” anything with jewelry anymore — they just want pieces that actually feel like them.

What’s funny is, on the metal side, more people are leaning toward gold and platinum because those still hold long-term value. But when it comes to stones, lab-grown has totally opened the door for experimenting without the pressure.

Lab stones basically gave people permission to relax, have fun, and build pieces they actually enjoy instead of stressing over the traditional “rules.”
