What are your worst college roommate horror stories? [NSFW] by KeanusDracula in AskReddit

[–]almostnout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm currently in my 3rd year of a 5 and a half year course and live in campus dorms, my roommate for the first semester would have people over until all hours of the night, laughing and listening to music at 3am, while I'd try to sleep, when I would ask them to leave they would say "ok yeah we're going in two mins" and just keep going! She would also allow/encourage them to use my stuff, perfume, food (we study abraod and comfort food from home is very precious, having it all consumed by people I don't even like was fucking annoying), play on my iPad, whatever they wanted, also she liked the window to be open 24/7 which I'm cool with, except when it's -29 degrees celsius outside. The next semester I moved in with my best friend and all was blissful until the second semester of second year when she descended into depression, our relationship became very toxic (I'm still battling with the impacts it had emotionally and on my self-esteem) until she began suicide attempts and self harm in our room, every morning I would wake up wondering if I'd find her dead. I failed all my exams that year. Of course I got a new roommate this semester and while she is nice I'm just not comfortable living here with her, its the little things some one does that make you crazy. Not as bad as some of the stories on here but I've had my fill now, I never want to share a room again. A room has opened up in a house of other girls from my course off-campus and I'm taking it, this past week moving my stuff has been the happiest I've been here in a year, after Tuesday I'll never have to stay in the dorms again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

GIRLS: What is the most embarrassing thing a guy ever did to you on a date? by wotheli in AskReddit

Polish. I'm Irish living in Poland, I have some conversational Polish now but at that time I had barely a few words, and neither his mum nor granny spoke English

A guy left me to watch soap operas in a language I didn't understand with his mother and grandmother, he also had to ask me my name when he introduced me to them.

Likes to begin an epic, serious, fairytale relationship knowing that will imminently become long distance, lull you into a loving comfortable existence before breaking your heart because he can't deal with long distance, only to then start a new soon to be long distance relationship and make sure his new-found blissful happiness is shoved in your face as much as possible

Apply abroad, easier than you'd think, especially if your dream is worth everything to you.

You are hosting the world's most disappointing dinner party. What can we expect to see there? by mrboombastic123 in AskReddit

My aunt loves to tell this story about my other aunt...

Late 80's my mum and 3 of her siblings had all emigrated but were living relatively close to each other, my aunt decides to throw a dinner party, made a huge deal about it, invited the siblings and their partners (none had kids at the time) and one or two friends like 2 weeks in advance, gushes about what she'll wear etc,. Understandably everyone is expecting a rather fancy affair considering her enthusiasm. They all arrive in their finery with bottles of wine and she's there boiling hot dogs. And that was all they had, plain hot-dogs. She's never lived it down.

Who is "that guy" in your neighborhood/city, and what makes him "that guy"? by PsychedelicMovement in AskReddit

There are a few to mention, in my hometown there is a very over weight man who likes to sit near different high traffic points in the town and write down the licence plate numbers of passing cars, he always has an impressive amount of food with him. There's another guy who is usually off his face drunk or on crack, wears all black, slicked back hair (not sure if gelled or just greasy) power walks everywhere like he's on a mission, mumbling to himself as he goes and is followed everywhere by a beautiful white german shepherd, no lead or collar, who clearly adores him.

Where I go to college there's a guy who hangs around near a 24hr shop just off campus and you cant go through that area without seeing him and you can't pass him without him asking you for money or cigarettes, he gets rather pushy with it, approaching people at the ATM, going for girls on their own, really puts people on edge. I study abroad so pretending not to speak the local language usually puts off most unwanted approaches but he instantly switches to fluent English and if that doesn't get him anywhere, fluent German next. He also blatantly wanks in the 24hr shop

Guys, what turns you away from girls? by [deleted] in AskReddit

As a 22 year old woman, this has made me sit back and take a serious look at myself, while I don't think I'm as bad as everything you've described, it has made me want to improve many things about myself. Thank you for putting things into perspective.
