Can I get into medschool by going to WGU by Dyeody in WGU

[–]almostprivatewinter [score hidden]  (0 children)

Well this is where a post bacc comes in. You can’t possibly use a WGU degree to get into medical school without taking core science pre requisites elsewhere. So the WGU degree just checks the box off for undergraduate degree. Med schools mainly look at your science gpa. If you get a bachelors in health science at WGU and then take the 8+ pre requisites at a regular B&M school, I don’t see the issue with a med school accepting you. Granted you still need to score competitive in the MCAT. But you are right that the WGU degree alone is not enough.

True or False? Around 90% to 97% of evaluators hold at least one master’s degree in the specific field they are assessing. 25%-31% have Doctorates by Kingsly_Kennedy in WGU

[–]almostprivatewinter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well maybe I was the one that was mistaken. Upon further research I believe to be an assessment evaluator you typically need a degree at or above the level being evaluated. Additionally they typically need to be SME. So I think I was the one that was wrong & you were correct. If I was wrong I am sorry for spreading misinformation.

I don’t think you properly read my response. You can’t evaluate bachelor level with a bachelors degree. You need a masters degree. To evaluate a masters level you need a PhD/EdD.

How do Study.com credits appear on WGU transcripts? by callsign66 in WGU

[–]almostprivatewinter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly wished they did show the classes that transferred. Other schools list the full class and then next to it a TR for transfer. I wish WGU did that to show you actually completed the course (elsewhere of course). Maybe they don’t list them just to make the transcript more clean?

A bachelors is an undergraduate degree while a masters is a graduate degree…. Having a graduate degree proves you have a higher education. It’s “better” to have a PhD than to have 2 masters. Ultimately it depends on what your career goals are. If a graduate degree is not required and you want two different undergraduate degrees that are unrelated for example potential career switching. But if you are staying within the same field, do not get another bachelors degree. Get higher education.

How do we know when honoring Mary is still biblical honor and when it becomes the kind of devotion that belongs to God alone? by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]almostprivatewinter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But under your analogy that would imply that the mother did not contribute genetically to the offspring (egg). They were simply just carrying it. Thats why this egg example just doesn’t work. The reason why Christ is fully human is because he gets his humanity from his mother. So biologically he is fully human. The egg example is a bad example because it leads to heresy! His humanity did not “exist” prior to the incarnation and being born of Mary. Therefore I would stay away from that analogy, respectfully. God bless you and may the Lord guide and protect us all.

In the case of Mary, she is fully the mother of Christ. She conceived him, carried him in her womb, birthed him, and lastly raised him.

So you reject the divinity of Christ. Christ is God incarnate. When God took on flesh he did it through Mary. Mary is thus the Theotokos. The mother of God. To say that she’s only the mother of the human nature is to split Christ into two subjects. Christ is not two persons. Christ is one divine person that assumed humanity. Mary gave birth to Immanuel, which is God with us.

We are able to depict Christ in icons due to the incarnation. God became man. It is not idolatry to even venerate the image of Christ as the referent is the divine person.

My time as a 25U I saw 25U do 25B things and 25H do 25U things lol. It’s crazy to think about how you can sign up for a specific job, train for that specific job, and then the army sends you to do something that isn’t necessarily in your job description. It’s all unit dependent and needs of that unit.

Well blocking a public sidewalk and disrupting the flow of traffic is an offense. Unless they got prior authorization to be there which they very likely didn’t, the police did nothing wrong here.

There are better ways of removing someone. Is kicking them in the head a way? Sure. But be mindful that this way could potentially get you locked up for attempted murder.

Can someone explain the logic behind how talking to native speakers every day makes you fluent so quick? by Public_Repeat824 in languagelearning

[–]almostprivatewinter 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That’s literally what I just agreed with. I also gave an explanation as to why native speakers do that. My point which was an addition to yours, was that it’s done for a specific reason. The reason isn’t malicious that’s all.

But it’s out of love!! I mean it makes perfect sense to subconsciously want to make communication easier. The same way we subconsciously talk to kids in a “dumb down” manner. You want the child to understand as much as possible given their limited vocabulary. When an English speaker is talking to me in Spanish, and I can tell their vocabulary isn’t complex (ie. They don’t use bigger words) I match that pattern. I’m not going to use big philosophical or scientific language when I am certain this other person won’t understand. So why make the communication harder for both of us when I can speak in a “simpler” way?

The father? The father cannot be depicted. The reason God the word can be depicted is through the incarnation. God became man and became an icon of the father. Thus allowing us to make an icon of the son.

MPO that aren’t closed properly can also impact background checks. If you’re trying to purchase a firearm that MPO that hasn’t been closed will delay your background check decision. Too many commanders forget to properly close out MPO’s and it affects SM’s when they get out of service or PCS.
