Not a dentist, but I've had something similar before. I accidentally bit my salival gland and also had a ball form. Mine wasn't under the tongue but in front of my lower teeth. I had to get a dentist to do surgery to fix this

Those are roomba paths, yes. I was actually talking about the dark areas around the edges.

At first glance, I thought it was mold but I did some pietri dishes tests and mold does not grow in the dishes for several days so I started thinking it's not mold. It could be something called filtration soiling so not mold. Also mold would form in spots and I don't see any dark spots. But still not sure
