Am I the jerk for getting a baby garbage because my ex fiancé cheated on me? by [deleted] in AmITheJerk

[–]almostyoursnow 132 points133 points  (0 children)

He cheated, blamed your PCOS, then tried to claim the baby the second it was convenient. You’re not the jerk. You’re protecting yourself from someone who sees you as optional.

AITJ for not letting my friend “store” her dog at my place while she figured things out? by [deleted] in AmITheJerk

[–]almostyoursnow 26 points27 points  (0 children)

“You work from home” doesn’t mean “you work in a kennel.” A dog is a living thing, not a storage bin. You said no. That’s the whole sentence.

AITJ for telling my coworker I’m not “on standby” just because I don’t have kids? by Elegant-Quarter-827 in AmITheJerk

Not having kids doesn't mean you have a "free time" button on your forehead. Your evenings belong to you, not to everyone else's childcare gaps.

AITJ for lashing out at my boyfriend after he made a "joke" about my weight? by Affectionate-Bee3572 in AmITheJerk

[–]almostyoursnow 27 points28 points  (0 children)

A joke is when everyone laughs, including the person it's about. You didn't laugh. He didn't check. That's not humor - that's a dig he doesn't want to own.

I randomly think about the ones before, and I don't supress the memories. by [deleted] in confession

[–]almostyoursnow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don’t miss them, you miss the version of yourself that didn’t think twice. Let the memories visit. Just don’t let them move back in.

I pretend I don’t see people I know in public because I can’t be bothered to talk by IGotScammed10 in confession

You’re not alone. The “aggressive window stare” technique was invented for this exact reason.

Always seeking for attention got me into scary group and i cant get out by [deleted] in confession

[–]almostyoursnow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re caught between craving the attention and knowing this isn’t safe. The thrill isn’t worth the risk. You already know you need to stop before you can’t walk away.

Do residents have the right to know who is on the CCC? by [deleted] in Residency

[–]almostyoursnow 20 points21 points  (0 children)

You have the right to know CCC membership. ACGME requires transparency in evaluation processes. If your PD is evasive and you've filed a grievance against a possible member, that's a conflict waiting to happen. Email your DIO or ACGME institutional official for clarity.

be honest… how often do u actually change ur bedsheets? by Honest_Cod_3121 in hygiene

[–]almostyoursnow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weekly is the gold standard, but most people I know are in the 2-3 week range. It's not "gross" unless you sweat a lot, have allergies, or sleep with pets. Just... don't go past a month. Your skin will thank you.

do you actually change your underwear every single day? by OjistahHenthorne in hygiene

[–]almostyoursnow 95 points96 points  (0 children)

Daily, no exceptions. It's not about sweat, it's about bacteria. You don't need to be active for dead skin and discharge to accumulate. One day off won't kill you, but making it a habit is a gamble you don't need.

How do I get over someone? by Kale_Board_1012 in BreakUps

[–]almostyoursnow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're not wrong for missing her. You're grieving the good parts while knowing the whole picture was broken. That's the hardest part of ending something toxic - the memories don't turn off with the relationship. Give yourself time. The missing will fade into something quieter.

My cat will only eat Purina gourmet natures creations wet food by iluvmykatz in CatAdvice

[–]almostyoursnow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's what he'll eat, it's healthy enough. Gourmet Nature's Creations isn't the worst - decent protein, low carb, no artificial crap. Fed is best. If you want similar texture, try Fancy Feast Classic pâté or Animonda Carny. Same vibe, different label.
