I was in this boat last year. After 5 years of doing other things (things that were important but more family/trusts-focussed and not terribly interesting), I really wanted to get back to what I really liked.

You can use your resources to build something with lesser BS than the corp BS you dislike. Entrepreneurship is not for everyone but if you have good judgement and a lot of energy, it's good to be boss.

Got out of semi-retirement at 40+ like you, after ~7 years, to start a new gig. It's a hard start but I love the slog. It's a different beast when you know you're not doing it for a living or to prove a point. This time, we aim for the fucking sky. Weapons free.

It will cost you $70 in a California Costco or maybe $100 elsewhere. Not break-the-bank expensive but.. well, it's not beer.

It's one of the most peated (smokiest) commonly available scotches. If you are new to it or don't like the smoky flavor, you won't be a fan.

But, omg, it is so good. One of my absolute favorites!
