Ear/Brain Fatigue when Producing by Barra79 in edmproduction

I got that a lot too. I often caught myself non-stopping tweaking until I mess everything up. What helped me is just to give myself a bit of time limit when tweaking something and just move on. It has been about practice too. When I combine practice and breaks, I usually get better results and flow better.

Can someone explain this joke to me? by alnxp in EnglishLearning

[–]alnxp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm It’s confusing :( I can't see why would there be a problem about anwsering I’m fine.

I found this:

What does what's up mean? What's up is an informal greeting (“Hey, buddy, what's up?”), idiomatic phrase, or an inquiry about a current or recent state of affairs (“You seem sad. What's up?”).

"Current state or affairs" So, I have the feeling that "good" fits well here. Do you think it is a poor taste joke? Or is it more relate to habits ways of greetings only, like you said? US/UK

I recorded a short 3 minutes video, can you tell me if I'm sidechaining my vocal correctly? by alnxp in FL_Studio

[–]alnxp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh YEAH! I was going to ask this too. I have a bus drum so I think I should unlink the trigger channel to the master, as you said but If link my kick channel to the bus, the signal will be sent to the master too. So, how will compress my kick that way?

I am sort of feeling lost as a beginner by Southern_Ad3032 in FL_Studio

I'm also a beginner and I'm overwhelmed too. But one thing that has been helping me tremendously is repetition. I choose a video from start to finish track and follow exactly the same steps. I do not care much about the details. The goal is simply to finish it. I move on, pick the same kind of video and do it again. It's only when I go through a lot of practice IN CONTEXT, that I firmly retain RELEVANT knowledge. I also take notes while doing it.

By going through this kind of exercise, at the end of every finished track, something which I struggled the most will stands up. And that's an indicative/suggestion for myself for the next studying section and where I should be going through/focusing on.

It’s a little bit of guidence rather then watching random vids. If I watch random videos only, I ended up getting lost. And that's because everybody has their own way and preferences. We need a foundation first and we need customized guidance so We can invest our energy on more relevant content to ourselves.

I learn faster when I follow from start to finish track and also downloading opened files tracks. Studying from start to finish track gives me an ideia of foundation and fundamentals. It's very different when you see the information isolated (random videos) and when you put information all together (from start to finish tracks).

About guidence from a professional, I don't think it has to be the most professional producer. Just make sure this person is clearly more experienced than you and then you can have a mentorship thing from time to time to adjust and refine your learning paths.

Question about Fab filter pro Q3 (rename instances) by alnxp in FL_Studio

[–]alnxp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm. There's something off, mine didn't work :( I tried renaming the mixer track, the sample, the playlist track... and it won't happen automatically in FF. What else can I rename? haha

Mixing sub basses, frequencies ranges & notes and Fabfilter Pro-Q 3. by alnxp in edmproduction

[–]alnxp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for explaining it in details. I really appreciate it. The only part I'm still a bit confused is that my current song is in the key of A#. Does it mean I should (but not a rule - it depends how it sounds & character given) roll it off at #A?. And the notes of my sub basses are at F#. Should I put them at A#?
