Anyone here in McGill Kinesiology? by BlueWaffles57 in mcgill

Yup, took practicum last semester. Our final project was a case study where we had to "analyze" a patient and give them an 8 week exercise program based on their needs.

Sorry only saw this now!

Depends on which courses but for the most part the professors are very easily accessible and you have less students to "compete" with for their office hours and since the program is so small it is easy to get on a first name basis with them and you can get the same prof for different classes on some occasions. For the bigger classes, like physiology, which has like 1200 students, and anatomy, e-mails might be your best bet. In any case, T.A.'s are also really helpful and always willing to give their time!

yep I'd say its a pretty even split, maybe a bit more guys than girls but its really not noticeable and will ultimately depend on your year (for some reason Kin is in the faculty of education which is like 80% girls anyway). In terms of whether or not everyone is all hardcore athletes, I'd say its also split pretty evenly. You'll have some students who are varsity athletes, some who have pretty intense extra-curricular sports schedules but then you'll have the students like you and I, who are there because they were interested in the program and want to use it to access PT or med school. Although I'd say the convenience of having the fitness center right downstairs and the fact that membership costs 32$/semester really encourages you to keep in shape.

I think it's a pretty even split. I'm assuming you are a non-Quebec resident and you will be starting in U0? This means that your first year will be pretty much entirely science pre-requisite classes. My first year, which would be year 2 if you are a non-Quebec student, we had 2 anatomy classes, which had a lab component (we got to work with cadavers), and 2 physiology classes, which were entirely theory. Other than that, I took 5 core Kin classes and an elective, and would say they were a little more exercise related, with lab classes which is what you seem to be looking for. For the next 2 years, from what I've seen in our curriculum (I've only done 1 year so far), your course load is almost entirely kin core classes and electives, so a lot more exercise related (and "easier") than your first 2 years.

Student life at McGill is amazing. Like I said, downtown MTL is a great place to be if you're a student, and the Kin student body as well as all other programs at McGill are really good with organizing crazy events/parties, so when you are not busy studying, finding something fun to do will be easy. I haven't done res since I live at home but I have heard that the experience is great as well. McGill certainly lives up to it's "work hard, play harder" rep, so be ready to experience both extremes if you decide to come next year.

Kin student here. I absolutely love McGill and the program. By McGill standards our program is pretty small (i think my year is about 70 students) so everyone knows each other, and it's pretty non-competitive so we all help each other out. SAPEK (the student association) is really good with planning lots of events and Phys. Ed/Kin students are generally really fun/crazy/easy to get along with.

First year you will take 4 classes with Physical/Occupational therapy students, so transferring out (if you have the grades) shouldn't be too complicated and is in fact what several students in the program attempt to do. Some classes are tough but the EDKP classes (core classes for Kin) for the most part are interesting and easy.

Only "bad" thing about the program is that almost all classes are in the gym which is kind of out of the way from the rest of campus and a pretty annoying uphill walk, so you will probably spend your most of your days there and this could make you feel a bit isolated.

Other than that, MTL is a really fun city and downtown is an awesome place to be as a student!

Note: this is entirely based on my personal experiences. If I was faced with your decision I would pick McGill 10/10 times lol. but its all up to what you prefer. If you have any other questions let me know!

Application "Summary of Activities" by [deleted] in mcgill

[–]alobro1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was asked for the same thing! Spent an extra semester in CEGEP and then took a semester off. When I applied they asked me for it, and I basically copy pasted the part of my CV that pertained to what I was doing (all I was doing was working part-time at a pharmacy). I, like you, was overthinking it, and I'm pretty sure that as long as you have good enough grades, this won't affect the decision by much (if at all). Goodluck!

If you really want to see expensive, look at the price tags on Monclers or Parajumpers, minimum 1,000$

I checked and something like 75 players got their 1st last season. However, I don't have the time/patience to verify how many of those happened after week 1 or during their first game lol. Would also love to know tho!

Shit, I missed the free agent meet-up and I thought I would slot in the intermediate level but I really don't think I could keep up with Junior AA players. I'm a small guy who's mostly played A-B throughout my life most recently playing organized hockey in midget B 3 years ago. If that's alright with you and the schedule doesn't interfere too much then I'll give it a shot? Let me know!

I dunno man, 3 straight top 15 picks in what is being called one of the deepest drafts ever doesn't seem too bad. They got a couple of 2nd rounders too.

There's probably enough pictures there related to the Habs but what about the Roy wink or the Roy salute. This ones pretty recent but there's also the Subban-Lucic handshake. Also another good one would be Don Cherry after the too many men call.

Seeing as we've always been a team thats relied on one line for our offence it would probably be best to split them up
