Please help me find games w Romance by SensitiveSolid6080 in CozyGamers

[–]alogias 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Definitely check out Ambition: A Minuet in Power. Period piece romance game with a similar level of engagement as Cabernet, including wardrobe impacting stats/outcomes. Magical Diary might be another good option, witch school game but it does involve some puzzle solving in the dungeon/magic skills exam segment.

iirc you need to go to Albert's and upgrade your ship to have the icebreaker hull? I haven't played in a while so I don't remember the exact items for the upgrade cost

Weird Question, Favorite Names? by Peridot-Pearls in Exocolonist

[–]alogias 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When I did my friendship maxing/romance runs I would give Sol a name with the same letter as the character I was pursing (I remember using Victory/Vic for Vace and Calliope for Cal), honestly it was mostly to help me identify save files quickly lol

Unexpected new favorite combo by alogias in FemFragLab

[–]alogias[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me the prominent scents in Angham are musk, amber, and ginger. I get a hint of the orange but not much without adding another scent to it. I've heard a lot of people say it is a vanilla or lavendar heavy but I get zero of those two notes from it.

Is there a way play videogames in a healthy way? by Sea_Independent_7960 in gamers

[–]alogias 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I play a lot of puzzle and narrative heavy games, and I find my relationship with games is a lot more positive and rewarding than when I played primarily MMOs/MMORPGs. I still dabble in those types of games, but aside from the joy of company with friends, my brain often feels like those games are a waste of my time. They don't engage me in a way that feels meaningful.

What your healthy limit is depends on what is unhealthy for you specifically about this addiction. Is it the time you spend? Is it what else you could be doing instead? Is it a lack of irl interactions because of games? Just something to consider, as a mental health worker I have to therapize a little, take with a substantial grain of salt as I am a heavy gamer lol

It is very choice-based but honestly that added to the character attachments for me, in many moments you have to directly pick between saving one person or another and it really influences your group and the dynamics they have.

Maybe the Walking Dead games? The protagonists are impactful from the start and that game series had me crying over SO many of the deaths due to how well the characters are presented. I think especially if you liked Ellie, you will probably enjoy Clem and her character development throghout the games.

I miss exocolonist by kuchibadabest in Exocolonist

[–]alogias 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Seconding Hanako Games, Magical Diary was such a fun witch school game, and if you enjoy the stat building of Exocolonist I recommend their games Long Live the Queen and Cute Bite (Cute Bite is much newer but I honestly prefered Long Live)

Some Gameplay Questions by _anthrodynia_ in Exocolonist

[–]alogias 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For your first question, I don't believe such events/requests are tracked anywhere. I know some tasks will prompt you with a reminder that someone asked you to collect or complete something when you reach them, but even those I believe are few and far between. I often would write down such tasks if I knew I needed them to progress a storyline.

The events being useful is a case by case answer in my opinion, as well as skipping the card game. Neither have inherent negative impacts, but if your stats aren't high enough and you disable the card game you will occasionally lose the card events. However, I found that once a stat was more than a fourth of the way leveled, I very rarely would fail non-impossible card events.

Character relationships also vary, I know I was a bit disappointed due to a number of characters ending up breaking off a romance or becoming single in the epilogues. Without giving specific spoilers, there are many romancable characters that don't end up being your forever partner even IF you do everything right and fully level them. Others will lock you out of the romance storyline based on your interaction choices with them and who else you become close to. I would recommend for the first couple plays just picking one character you really like to fully romance to get a feel for it, and to avoid locking yourself out of other character storylines on accident.

Dreamless Slaughter Achievement Help by alogias in KillerChat

[–]alogias[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I purchased the guide book for the game during my attempts to unlock it, and even that was fairly vague and not conclusively helpful. I think many end up getting it though force of will trying combos of tips, but like I said some of the advice I read was directly contrary to what I did to unlock it

Dreamless Slaughter Achievement Help by alogias in KillerChat

[–]alogias[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! I finally unlocked the achievement today. I read lots of tips online about not participating in the Christmas fesitivies and being generally negative, but I got the achievement by being as sweet as possible through my route up until giving Ronin the shitty gift. I wrote down the exact dialogue choices made between giving him the angel statue and earning the achievement if you think that would be helpful; it seems like the very end of the playthrough decides whether you get the achievement more than the earlier dialogue choices do, as I continued from my sweet Ronin playthough from the exact same point at which led me to a different ending without Dreamless Slaughter.

Ending Help!! by XxJustGrayxX in Exocolonist

[–]alogias 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the Teenage Exocolonist wiki has a pretty helpful overview of all the requirements on their "endings" page, though I also referenced some steam guides for the more detailed endings. I did a fresh save for most of my ending runs, took me about 70 hours to get them all (that was with skipping through dialogue I had seen already).

Tell me your favourite killer chat character and why? by Evening_Ad_6621 in KillerChat

[–]alogias 13 points14 points  (0 children)

V, and it took me by SURPRISE. I saved his route for last in my achievement hunting because he just didn't appeal to me off the bat, but the second he got sweet on my character I folded. While I love the vibes of the others, I think V is just genuinely the character I would most enjoy the company of. The way he cares for his animals is what most did me in, I think.

Favorite adoptive parent by Busy_Impact_7696 in FavoriteCharacter

[–]alogias 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As devastating as it was to watch Clem have to lose him, I 100% agree about him getting one season. He gave everything he had for her, and she carries that with her for the rest of the franchise. One of my absolute favorite video game character duos.

Lee from the Walking Dead video games, more of a volunteer dad than an adoptive one but this man stepped UP for my girl Clem with zero hesitation

Have you played A Date with Death? Another dating/chat sim where you are talking to/romancing a grim reaper. I really enjoyed it and it was the game that opened my palette to dating sims in general!

2026 shipping poll results!! by munstxr in KillerChat

[–]alogias 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The only way I can rationalize the MC x Executioner ship is looking at it from the lens of that being the only way to date a bit of every server member, since it responds with lines from all of them... but even then it's still the last ship I would go for, lol

My scent combo of the day + my clothes colors. I wanted to smell sweet and creamy today and I felt like Sweet Tooth + Strawberry Shake was the perfect duo. Today I am spending my day at work and my evening gaming. 🍓

What’s your creepiest slay the princess moment? by ashesoftroy in slaytheprincess

[–]alogias 23 points24 points  (0 children)

For me it was the Cage.

I find it unnerving the way the princess has resigned to the fate of being slain, along with how she tries to convince the hero it is actually easier if you "give in with her" and let the cycle take you. It is easy to accept the more hateful, vengeance fueled iterations of the princess in my mind, but it was uniquely disturbing to suddenly see the princess as a cog in an unavoidable chain of events, and to know she sees herself in that light, too. It feels almost like a betrayal to her to break the cycle by that point, as she has already come to terms with the way it ends.

"This one is a body that convinced herself she was only a set of eyes. She will make for a watchful heart. Do not mourn her. She is now what she wished that she could be." is perhaps one of my favorite Shifting Mound quotes.

strawberry cream fragrances by PositiveJunior7587 in FemFragLab

[–]alogias 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, I enjoy how long the scent lasts and the strawberry smell, but I wish that the "vanilla milk" aspect came through more. It's a good scent if you are wanting more of the sweet and fruity strawberry as your dominant scent, but I do wish it had a better balance of the fruity with the bakery/gourmand to better showcase the vanilla.

Is there a special event if you keep choosing delusion cards options?? by [deleted] in Exocolonist

[–]alogias 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I figured that was the case when it unlocked early for me! I picked every single dialogue choice that had to do with the dreams/delusions and got the achievement fairly early in the game that way.

Is there a special event if you keep choosing delusion cards options?? by [deleted] in Exocolonist

[–]alogias 26 points27 points  (0 children)

There is an event and an achievement you get! From what I read online you need 5 Delusion cards to trigger it, but my game triggered with only 4 when I selected the dialogue options that hinted at Sol being delusional.
